I have much to say about this but perhaps a few comments will suffice right now --
As mentioned it is love that conquers fear. If you love anything more than you love Jesus it can cause you to shrink back and deny him or otherwise fail to gives clear testimony to the Truth.
It is not our own power that causes us to overcome fear. It comes from the Holy Spirit and give us courage just as assuredly as it empowered men of old to rise up and fight battles!
