I've met Scriptures on prophecies about Israel, and I have drawn some conclusions on how they are linked to today's Israel.
Yesturday again on the news, they told about Israel and the war there with the palestines on Gaza. They said that the israelies want war, or even more war. They told that, one of the primeministercandidates even sugested to use atomic bombs on the palestines!
Just imagin in what kind of mood they are there!
If they really will use atomic bombs against Hamas, I'm sure muslims around the world will want to retaliate on Israel with the same. Already Pakistan and soon Iran will have atomic bombs.
If they would destroy today's Israel with nuclear weapons, how would some Bible prophecies be fullfilled?
There is a prophecy in Ezekiel chapter 38 wich indicates that today's Israel will be destroyed once more and then a second time be attaced by Gog. It is said according to the New World Translation,( the rest of the quoted scriptures are from this translation too):
8 “‘“After many days you will be given attention. In the final part of the years you will come to the land [of people] brought back from the sword, collected together out of many peoples, onto the mountains of Israel, that have proved to be a constantly devastated place; even [a land] that has been brought forth from the peoples, [where] they have dwelt in security, all of them.
the mountains of Israel, that have proved to be a constantly devastated place;
Are the mountains of Israel a devastated place now? No, not yet, but surely they would become that if Israel first bombs with nuclear weapons Gaza and then muslims nations that have nuclearweapons retaliate on Israel.
After that the mountains of Israel would surely be for a long time "a constantly devastated place", I believe for 70 years again.
The verse 12 repeats the thought: It will be to get a big spoil and to do much plundering, in order to turn your hand back upon devastated places reinhabited and upon a people gathered together out of the nations, [one] that is accumulating wealth and property, [those] who are dwelling in the center of the earth.
But what does it mean that the devastated places will be "reinhabited [with] people gathered together out of the nations, [one] that is accumulating wealth and property, [those] who are dwelling in the center of the earth."?
We who have been or are Jehovah's witnesses, surely remember how the WT-society explains this. That we are this people wich is gathered together and that we are accumulating spiritual wealth and property.
But I can not fully believe this explaination. I agree though that this people refers to today's Jehovah God's people. And I believe that it is the anointed ones, because they are the real Israel, Abraham's seed.
Moreover, if YOU belong to Christ, YOU are really Abraham’s seed, heirs with reference to a promise. Galatians 3:29
But the other sheep mentioned by Jesus in John 10:16, are also a part of Jehovah's people. Therefore I believe that they too are included in the people gathered together out of the nations, to the mountains of Israel, wich is accumulating wealth and property, [those] who are dwelling in the center of the earth.
Of course if Jehovah's witnesses who, claim to be the real Israel will go to Israel after 70 years of davastation, then other israelies by flesh would like to go to Israel too. In this way they would become one people. Then they would have a great work to accomplish, to build the great magnificent temple from Ezekiels vision. Then all the prophecies about Israel would get their fullfillment. Finaly also the attact of Gog of the land Magog.
