I called on a home in France and they had the most enormous olive tree in their garden. Olive trees grow slowly, can endure drought well, and can also continue living despite extensive damage. The damaged part is cut off and the cut is painted with a sealant. Strange misshapen trees live for centuries. The girth and size of this particular tree suggested it was over 2,000 years old.
All olive trees are checked in France as they are protected. The wood is very beautiful, so they make sure old trees are not being cut down without permission, no matter even if they are in your garden.
Carob trees in Spain are similarly protected, since during the food shortage of the civil war it was Carob that maintained the lives of many. (The same stuff that kept the prodigal son alive).

You know what strikes me about this picture, and some others that I have seen of Olive trees?
The trunk of the tree is huge. Also the branches almost combine with the trunk into one. Makes me wonder,...Jesus and Jah both chose this tree for many important illustrations. One such illustration was the symbolism of Chirst.
Now if christ is the trunk and members of his body are the branches, either natural or grafted in, look how much the tree and branchs all merge and twist together, as one.:giverose:
