First Key:
Ask for God's Help With a Proper Attitude
Curiously enough, we find that the Bible is not a book that can be readily understood by everyone.
How, then, can we come to understand it? Our first step is to humbly ask God for help.
Prayer, coming to God to humbly ask for His help, is the first vital key to understanding His Word.
Isaiah 66:2 “Now all these things my own hand has made, so that all these came to be,”
is the utterance of Jehovah.
“To this one, then, I shall look, to the one afflicted and contrite in spirit and trembling at my word.

God describes the kind of attitude and approach He respects: "“To this one, then, I shall look, to the one afflicted and contrite in spirit and trembling at my word."
God does not play favorites; He is not concerned with the color of a person's skin or his nationality.
He looks on the heart, the attitude and approach, to determine whether to give understanding.
Peter tells us, Acts 10:34 At this Peter opened his mouth and said: “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial,
35 but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

King Jesus Christ thanked God the Father for the way He chose whom to give spiritual understanding:
Luke 10:21 In that very hour he became overjoyed in the holy spirit and said: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones, and have revealed them to babes. Yes, O Father, because to do thus came to be the way approved by you. 22 All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and who the Son is no one knows but the Father; and who the Father is, no one [knows] but the Son, and he to whom the Son is willing to reveal him.”
God reserves the right to choose those to whom He will reveal spiritual understanding. Sometimes one whom God so chooses may indeed hold to views that oppose the truth, as did the apostle Paul. God miraculously called this man who had vigorously persecuted the early Christians, then opened his mind and used him as a powerful tool to reveal a wealth of spiritual truth and write much of what we know as the New Testament.

We can now have the courage To Be, to give up our egos, to live fully IN life, to love beyond our self, beyond our societal structure, beyond our religious culture, transforming ourselves with the courage to be what we know within our deep interior selves to be the unconditional love that transcends all national and tribal barriers, all cultures and sexual orientations, all racial differences and all forms of exclusiveness. This is what the Kingdom of God is. This is how it "comes to Earth as it is in Heaven."

Notice the importance of Jehovah's involvement in our understanding of the Bible.
King Jesus said to His disciples: Luke 24:44 He now said to them: “These are my words which I spoke to YOU while I was yet with YOU, that all the things written in the law of Moses and in the Prophets and Psalms about me must be fulfilled.”
45 Then he opened up their minds fully to grasp the meaning of the Scriptures,
. It was not their intellect that let them grasp the meaning;
they had to have Divine help.
Many overlook this point in studying the Bible, if God does not act to open our minds, the Bible will remain closed to us.
The apostle Paul explained: "God's Word we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the HOLY SPIRIT teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God,
for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned"

1 Corinthians 2:13 These things we also speak, not with words taught by human wisdom,
but with those taught by [the] spirit, as we combine spiritual [matters] with spiritual [words].

How, then, can we find these truths?
As we have seen, the first key to understanding Scripture is to ask for God's help with a Right Attitude:
Jeremiah 29:13 “‘And YOU will actually seek me and find [me], for YOU will search for me
with all YOUR heart.
Why is attitude so important? Paul reveals the answer: 1 Corinthians 1:27 but God chose the foolish things of the world,
that he might put the wise men to shame;
and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put the strong things to shame;
28 and God chose the ignoble things of the world and the things looked down upon,
the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are,
29 in order that no flesh might boast in the sight of God.

No one will be able to boast that he was able to rightly understand God's spiritual truths
with only his native intelligence
and his own effort.
On the other hand, once a person humbly asks Jehovah for help and is committed to obeying what he learns,
he is on the right track.
Jesus explained this to His disciples:
Matthew 18:3 and said: “Truly I say to YOU, Unless YOU turn around and become as young children,
YOU will by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
4 Therefore, whoever will humble himself like this young child is the one that is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens;
5 and whoever receives one such young child on the basis of my name receives me [also].
No matter how intelligent we may be, if we don't humble ourselves and become teachable as a small child,
Jehovah will not help us grasp His Word.
Jehovah promises that He will faithfully answer a humble request for understanding from those with whom He is working.
James writes: James 1:5 So, if any one of YOU is lacking in wisdom, let him keep on asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching; and it will be given him.
An example of a proper, humble, godly approach is that of the Bereans,
mentioned in Acts 17:10 Immediately by night the brothers sent both Paul and Silas out to Be·roe´a,
and these, upon arriving, went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 Now the latter were more noble-minded than those in Thes·sa·lo·ni´ca,
for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.
12 Therefore many of them became believers, and so did not a few of the reputable Greek women and of the men.
Unlike others, the Bereans did not immediately reject what Paul was saying,
even though many things they heard contradicted their own long-held beliefs.
They carefully reviewed the Scriptures with an open mind and saw that what Paul had said made sense.
Then, after diligently searching the Scriptures, they verified that what he taught was indeed the truth,
and they humbly accepted his teachings.
Similarly, if we want to understand the Bible, we need the attitude of the Bereans.
We need to carefully review the Scriptures, not taking our beliefs for granted,
because, as the Bereans found,
our own ideas can be wrong.
So with a attitude of prayerfully, humbly seeking help from Jehovah so we can Learn,
leading to putting into practice what we do learn,
is the first key to understanding Jehovah's truths in the Bible.
You can put this principle into practice by asking Jehovah to enlighten, teach, instruct and correct you from His Word
and lead you in understanding it.

I really liked what you said about understanding The Holy Scriptures. And you based well your thoughts with Bible quatitions.

I can tell that I've experienced the same, that it is impossible to understand and get answers to questions and doubts only by intelligence. But when I've turned to Jehovah God in humble prayer to understand a specific question, only after that the Holy Spirit has given me the understanding.

I am happy that you brought up this subject. I hope more people will humbly search answers to their questions. Then the knowledge of God can become abundant. That's actually what God wants. In 1Timothy2:3,4 (NWT) it's written:
This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, 4 whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

Thanks to you for writing a such rejoicing post. I believe you have understood new things that we did not get in the Watchtower. So feel welcome to share with what Jehovah God has opened for you throught His Son and His Spirit.

Today the land itself speaks of economic danger of cataclysmic proportions. The Earth is changing with global warming.
The brakes don't seem to be stopping. And as the runaway train of bad news continues, fear is mounting all over the globe.
But from the place of fear, there is a gateway back to the presence of the supernatural and the miraculous.
Not only for you but for many about you.
Maybe through you and annointed like you, your intercessions as well as those of others who can get to,
and then walk past the gateway into the realm of the miraculous.
People may have lived under a cloud of desperation, difficulty and despair for so long and so far,

that fear is what hinders the approach to the door knocking with preconceived notions.
This results in trying to get into the door of the supernatural with the natural,
and the preconceived notions brought forth by the natural.
Then You might see divine intervention and even if it comes, you don’t prepare for the truths of this miracle.

There needs to be a mentality of strength, a mentality of positiveness and courage that I shall succeed.

Zechariah 4:6‘“Not by a military force, nor by power, but by my spirit,” Jehovah of armies has said.
Deal with it in the Holy Spirit.

What did Jehoshaphat do in a similar situation,
What can be drawn in this passage about a fearful person in the grips of a fearful reality,
seeking intervention from Jehovah God?

2 Chronicles 20:20 “Hear me, O Judah and YOU inhabitants of Jerusalem!
Put faith in Jehovah YOUR God
that YOU may prove yourselves of long duration. Put faith in his prophets and so prove successful.”

The realisation comes when the spirit of God connects with your spirit.
The glow of the Holy Spirit is over you.

There is a permission to intertwine with you. God will take care of you. You need to mesh with the Spirit,
and there needs to be an intertwining with the Holy Spirit for divine intervention.

Fasting and Prayer will take you to the door; will get you there but the door still needs to be opened.
The opening to the throne, getting your new truth.
There can be no preconceived notions
at the throne of grace

And Jehoshaphat does just that as he begins to speak to Jehovah on this basis,
reminding Jehovah of his awesomeness to the father Abraham and the miracles on behalf of the Forefathers.

Moses met Jehovah at the burning bush, he might have felt after spending years upon years banished to the hidden lands
that he had nothing to offer.
But he did meet Jehovah at the burning bush and received his miracle and what he did have to offer God wanted.
This is where the miracle Started, in the manner of the Spirit.
He brushed against the presence of the miracle.
And the miracles in Egypt were many, it took ten miracles to get the people freed from the bondage.
It was a world of miracles as it can be Now.

Where is your burning bush? There is your intervention. Your extraordinary event manifested by God intervening in human affairs.


Stop your struggle, relax, back off and he will stop your trouble.

The reason why a miracle can be messed up is that the struggle continues into the miracle,
where there is the need to stop.
Let go on the prior struggles and their continuing after affects and let the miracle begin.
And this involves letting go on the preconceptions from the natural and going to the supernatural realm of the Spirit and allowing the Spirit who will not force you in the miracle to mesh with your spirit
When you reach into the supernatural in prayer and fasting and let yourself to the close presence of the doorway of the Lord, let go of all the preconceptions on what your miracle must be.
Mine was the cloud cover over my head. The fog. I bring a storm.
Zephaniah 1:15 That day is a day of fury, a day of distress and of anguish, a day of storm and of desolation,
a day of darkness and of gloominess,
a day of clouds and of thick gloom,


But know this, know God who has control of the circumstances,
someone who can control it all and let this belief surpass your prior thoughts,
notions and ideas that this is a miracle that couldn’t be, couldn’t hold, couldn’t be lived in and sustained but realize that this miracle comes from a gateway to the supernatural and it blots out all that goes against it and you must prepare for the truth and let the fear which is a reality fade under the presence of the Living Spirit of God and the supernatural presence to you in the event.

At the gateway into the supernatural
Fear is a natural reaction to external circumstances you have no control over.

Fear will grip your heart.

And then you can’t fathom a miracle because of deepening fear.

People feel inescapably in the churning waters of seeming failure,
and become filled with fears of continuous failure and that the horizons of these failures will extend and deepen in the far reaching future.

In the struggle you may punish yourself with stress and relief becomes something that is even more distant from closely held hopes and possibilities.

The intellect of humanity needs to be illuminated.
Man needs to be advanced to see Spiritual Truth

It should be noted that soul and spirit has no independent existence out side the body.
By design humankind exists in the realm of mind and communicates with the world through the five material senses.
Some of us might have gone beyond the five senses to perceive Jehovah and Christ
through the power of Grace and Call.

Br. Mike: Thank You! I agree your words are the answer to finding liberty in Christ and hope for all who place their faith in God for all things. In these times the spiritual children, babes in Christ, within most Christians are starving for lack of light and truth from Gods very own nurturing holy spirit. Your KEY is the right one to open the door that lets Christ into the very spiritual heart and mind of each individual eternal hopes and spiritual needs. Two scriptures come to mind once Christ in spirit enters a spiritual child’s inner most thought process.

Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

I believe this first verse speaks of freedom to established Christians from error not sin per se'. This first truth is a prerequisite to this blessed hope of truly knowing and understanding the father son relationship and how it defines are relationship with our God and his father.

Lu 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

I believe most Christians worldwide believe they know who the son is and who the father is. From my witness that knowledge stems from carnal understanding for the most part handed down through time. To me it seems the verse says it can only be spiritually discerned by those of faith who God so chooses to reveal it too. I think that is what you are saying when you says all faithful Christians should allow God in spirit into their lives if they hope to be led by Gods holy spirit into the Lords truth away from mans preconceived errors rooted in traditional religion. Hey you can't lose when you trust all to God and ask God to help you thats for sure! That has been my message for many years brother!

I just found this, now.

I agree with a quite few things your saying and really want to separate a couple of your points, to extend or question beyond my perception of your writing.

But for now, I would just like to tell you that I find appreciation in your writings. Enough so, that I would just like to leave to ponder and think on them for awhile.:giverose:

I enjoy looking at flowers instead of trying to find a preconceived/conveived weed of thought. Maybe soon, when the rain comes, I'll come back to the post. (Goes great with your avatar!).

I can accentuate some spiritual experiences. Goes chicken against my upbring, though. Wonderfully, loving kindness, mercy, even miracles (I would call it supernatural power from Jesus's supernatural army that works for his team under power given to him from Jehovah (Holy Spirit))

Some things happen in the strangest ways and some burdens give wise insight, because burdens can cultivate great faith.

I'll get back again.
