I, Jehovah, am loving justice.--Isa. 61:8 :heartbeat: :rose: :rose:

In looking at all the material on justice it becomes clear one can't over-value it. It is important. It is described as: :rose:

''The maintance or administration of what is right in a fair and impartial way and according to a standard.'' It is often translated as 'righteousness.'' :rose:

''Will God himself pervert judgement,
Or will the Almighty himself pervert
righteousness?''Job 8:3 ..... :rose:

I understand justice to mean that if something is
'just' then it is deserved but also fair. :rose: :rose:

''And why not say, just as some men state that we say:
''Let us do the bad things that the good things may come''?
The judgement against those men is in harmony with justice.''
Romans 3:8 ..... :rose: :rose:

Our great God and grand creator is a lover of justice -- :rose:

'''He is a lover of righteousness and justice.
With the loving-kindness of Jah the earth is filled.'' Psalms 33:5 :rose:

''As for the Almighty, we have not :rose:
found him out; :rose:
He is exaulted in power,
And justice and abundance of
righteousness he will not belittle.'' Job 37:23 :rose:

A scripture I have always loved concerning justice --and think of often- is from the book of James showing that justice is tempered by mercy... :rose: :rose:

''For the one that does not practice mercy will have his judgement
without mercy. Mercy exults triumphantly over judgement.''
James 2:13 ..... :rose: :rose:

It was interesting to me to read of the interconnection
between justice and happiness-- :rose: :rose: :rose:
but then hearts are heavy when there is no justice :rose::rose:

''Happy are those observing justice,
Doing* righteousness all the time.'' Ps. 106:3 :rose: :rose:

And finally :heartbeat: we too are required to become
acquainted with God's impartial standard of justice and follow it as best we can--otherwise we violate the law of love as expressed by James ... :rose: :rose:

''My brothers, you are not holding the faith of our Lord
Jesus Christ, our glory, with acts of favoritism, are you?
For, if a man with gold rings on his fingers and in splendid clothing enters into a gathering of you but a poor man in filthy clothing
also enters, yet you look with favor upon the one wearing the
splendid clothing and say: ''You take this seat here in a fine place,''
and YOU say to the poor one: ''You keep standing.'' or: ''Take
that seat there under my footstool.'' you have class distinctions
among yourselves and you have become judges rendering wicked decisions, is that not so?
Listen, my beloved brothers. God chose the ones who are poor
respecting the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom,
which he promised to those who love him, did he not?
You though, have dishonored the poor man. The rich oppress you,
and they drag you before law courts, do they not?
They blaspheme the fine name by which you were called,
do they not? If, now, you practice carrying out the kingly law
according to the scripture: ''You must love your neighbor as yourself,''
you are doing quite well. But if you continue showing favoritism, you are working a sin, for you are reproved by the law as transgressors.''
James 2: 1-9 ....showing the vitalness of exercising justice in harmony with the law of love......and finally, finally :heartbeat: just how important is justice really? :rose: :rose:

''He has told you. O earthling man, what is good. And what is
Jehovah asking back from you but to exercise justice and to
love kindness and to be modest in walking with your God.'' Micah 6:8 :rose: :rose: :rose:

Thank you for yet another wonderful Scriptural discussion, sis wolfie. :)

9 So justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not reach us.

We look for light, but all is darkness;
for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.

10 Like the blind we grope along the wall,
feeling our way like men without eyes.
At midday we stumble as if it were twilight;
among the strong, we are like the dead.

11 We all growl like bears;
we moan mournfully like doves.
We look for justice, but find none;
for deliverance, but it is far away.

12 For our offenses are many in your sight,
and our sins testify against us.
Our offenses are ever with us,
and we acknowledge our iniquities:

13 rebellion and treachery against the LORD,
turning our backs on our God,
fomenting oppression and revolt,
uttering lies our hearts have conceived.

14 So justice is driven back,
and righteousness stands at a distance;
truth has stumbled in the streets,
honesty cannot enter.

15 Truth is nowhere to be found,
and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey.
The LORD looked and was displeased
that there was no justice.

Isaiah 59:9-15, NIV.

This is how Isaiah was inspired to describe conditions in his day among those of the land of Israel.

It might be said, more generally, that it is also an apt description of the majority of mankind today.

However, as we know, YHWH and Christ Jesus (Malachi 3:1-3) will arrive at Their appointed time to correct that sad situation.
