Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!

Hope this year brings us much much closer to our Lord Yeshua Jesus the Christ so that we may stop relying on all things humans spiritually speaking!

Which brings me to my thread topic, every movie that I have ever seen made about our Lord (including The Passion of the Christ) has been a disappointment. Not that the movie makers do not do hard work on the subject I am sure they do it. But maybe the personality of Jesus that emanates like a super glorious lamp through the pages of the Bible cannot ever be depicted like that!

I recently watched on the net a trailer of the movie that was made sometime back called "the nativity story". Has anybody seen the movie? is it any good?

The artists are all new and the locale seems very authentic!

The Gospel of John

Christian love nd greetings.

I have seen the Gospel of John several times. It is actually a DVD that my family owns. There is a 2 hr version and a 3 Hr.

It is one of the movies about Jesus I feel comfortable in recommending. It is very uplifting.

Hi gogh,

Thanks for the lead, I watched the utube clips, the movie looks very promising I will look for the DVD in our local video shops. Perhaps this time I will be proved wrong??

Hi There :)
I definately recommend the Gospel of John.
I play it very frequently...with the subtiltles on.
It is very settling, after some stressful days.
When you read Jesus' words, in large as life print, you tend to get a few, wow moments!
The movie is called the Visual Bible...taken from the Good News Bible.

I just love John 6!
63: "What gives life is God's Spirit.
Human power is of no use at all.
The words I have spoken to you bring God's life-giving Spirit."

I also have the movie Matthew...taken from the New International Version word for word.
Which I love too!

Enjoy! It's the greatest story ever told! :)

Much Christian Love
You can get all the parts of the gospel of John on you tube.
A good Bible version.

We have "The Nativity Story" on DVD. They did a reasonably good job, though I had issues with them birthing Jesus in a cave instead of a stable.

We also have The Passion on DVD. I thought it was very well done, though too graphic for children.

The Gospel of John is also good. :)

But really, it sure would be nice to see a Jesus movie in which Jesus actually looked Jewish/Arabic, instead of a shaggy white guy. :surrender:

Well at least Hollywood has come further than the WT. Does anyone remember when WT literature portrayed both Adam and Jesus clean shaven Caucasians?

I remember the days when WT literature portrayed Jesus and Adam clean-shaven. (does any one remember the book "From Paradise Lost..?" )

It's my understanding that a clean-shaven Jesus was Rutherford's doing. According to what I've read, da Judge didn't like beards.

Does anyone know if this is true??

Eve looks like George Washington!

Actually I wanted to know has anyone seen the musical Godspell? It is being performed nearby later this month and was wondering what you all thought?

Me too, me too.

Large, orange book, with a Caucasian beardless Jesus, who had swept back hair and curly flick-ups at the nape.

Russell was extremely hairy, so it seems that Rutherford wanted to have a different style, to make sure the Russell era had ended.
There was some tosh taught about facial hair representing sin, so perfect men would not have had facial hair like Jesus and Adam. Must have surprised Eve when Adam started sprouting!
 :funnyface:Weird:funnyface:
Anyone without facial hair back then, would either be presumed to have leprosy, or to be one of the castrati.
Beautiful singing voice though :listenmusic:

No, I only saw the film and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have the album 'on vinyl', as they say, for decades. I love it.
