I am getting dispirited by the number of topics surrounding legalism.

This is what Jesus decried.
We will not know the full technical data as regards the spirit realm, but even now we can feel the love.
The problem is, it seems that this board seems to be degenerating into the technical; a morass of morons discussing the trinity.

If you do not have an intimate and personal relationship with our father and his son, then do a bit of heartfelt on your knees prayer.

Get to know them personally.

My relationship with my father and Jesus are personal. I am not going to tell others how to believe in him. I know what they have revealed to me, but I cannot start to express it, and more so I should never then try impose that on anyone else.

We, (or I hope so), will all have an intimate and yet different relationship with our heavenly parents, which will then be rounded out, as we increase in fullness of knowledge. Who knows we may all meet in the middle.

Thought this was interesting. I am sure it was on the board before.

Worth a read.

We are all walking different paths.

Search for your creator, watch where you are putting your feet and try not to be clumsy like me and put them on someone elses.

Stop trying to figure out the kind of creator which suits our fellow beings.

Matthew 5:22 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
22 But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Fool!' will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But whoever says, 'You moron!' will be subject to hellfire.

I am not being upbuilt by the posts at the moment. Will be taking a long sabbatical, rather than jumping into the fray, with flailing arms an legs.
hu, If we all thought alike, this would be a dull place, eh? :cheekkiss:

hi vicky, :hibye: i do hope your sabbatical isn't too long.

we all love you here and miss you when we don't hear from you. (at least i know that i do.) as for the current sitch-a-ma-ca-shun here at ye olde cafe, i hear you. I say the serenity prayer a few times a day in conjunction with it. there are many things we are powerless to change, at this moment. so we accept them graciously and move on, all the while doing our best to 'sow' and 'water' wherever we can.

much christian love to you, dear sister ... iso...

Dear Isomam,:)

May I hijack your post to tell Vicky

Metoo feel the same way about you sis!:giverose:

Dear Man Hu,

Just a few lines to let you know that I can understand and feel your pain. I get frustrated over the trinity debate, too. Mostly, when everyone understand the Father is greater and Jesus said to pray to the Father in the model prayer. Its a no brainer and quite annoying.

I find interjecting conspiracy theories and spiritism appalling, while painfully admitting that I got caught up into it once myself. Once I realized that they were really looking at demonic inspired utterances (researched an author of one a posted essay) I immediately changed course. Its so sad that I can't shake any of them awake.

So, Vicky, we suffer because we can't change them. Can't fix what's incorrect. I can't change my husbands behavior or my sons. Do you know what I try to think, that by being long suffering, I'm imitating Jehovahs qualities that he has put up with from me. That makes me feel better. Jehovah had forgiven me and loved me through my long course in the fast lane. So what can I do to show my appreciation in even the smallest way? I put up with and deal with things that I wish I didn't have to.

I do raise my hand and vote that the trinity shouldn't be all over the board. It has been covered during this period and maybe should be put to rest for awhile, maybe when a newbie needs and desires the discussion.

Your love for our Creater and Jesus is so apparant. I think that the board would be losing an important personality by your absence. I'll pray for stength for your endurance.

With Love and Love and Love, Debbie
Dear Man Hu,

I have to stick up for you so here goes:

Dear Yannis,

I don't think that calling someone a moron is a sure way to go into the pits of hell fire, as you may believe.

Mariam Webster definition of moron-

Main Entry: mo·ron
Pronunciation: \ˈmȯr-ˌän\
Function: noun
Etymology: irregular from Greek mōros foolish, stupid
Date: 1910
1usually offensive : a mildly mentally retarded person
2: a very stupid person
— mo·ron·ic \mə-ˈrä-nik, mȯ-\ adjective
— mo·ron·i·cal·ly \-ni-k(ə-)lē\ adverb
— mo·ron·ism \ˈmȯr-ˌä-ˌni-zəm\ noun
— mo·ron·i·ty \mə-ˈrä-nə-tē, mȯ-\ noun

I'm sure that Man Hu was using the, a very stupid person definition.

Here's an interesting scripture from the NIV translation-

2 Timothy 2:23

Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.

This is the point Man Hu was making with that statement:She's tired of the running around in circles over the trinity quarrel.

I would prefer that you wouldn't respond out of anger during this thread. We are supposed to build each other up. Man Hu has her feelings and thats what this thread is about. I promise you, Yannis that I am not confronting you in a dispute. Whether you can empathize with Man Hu's feelings or not, she doesn't need an argument. So my love to you, brother.

With Christian Love to everyone, Debbie

PS. I hope you don't maind my speaking for you Man Hu, if I upset you please let me know.

Hi Man Hu:hibye:

Nice sentiments, and oh so to the right point! But as e-Magine rightly says: people think differently. Maybe not the belief by sincere people (horrid memories of our own streadfastly holding to 1914 and all that :gunhead:), but the endless debate which can take us a little low on the spiritual barometer. Sucks the joy out of life a bit, doesn't it. I think you're right: we should "switch off" the intellect for a while (easy for me!) and enjoy the feeling.

Enjoy your vacation - make it a short one!

I tend to take Jesus words seriously but my quoting that scripture was done tongue-in-cheek. I would never tell anyone they are going to hell.

She doesnt have to read or post in those threads. If ones choose to debate respectfully then it is their right to do so. You do know that this is a discussion board dont you?

As one of the facilitators, Vicky knows this better than anyone.

I happen to know someone quite well who literally has such a low IQ (<70). He doesn't debate, doesn't worry over prophecy, doesn't argue on the scriptures, his prayers are beautiful and he loves Almighty God with all his heart. Many of us envy him, his spirituality is so straightforward. Perhaps those Jesus spoke of - thanks for the quote, Yannis, by the way - had spent too long in debating chambers themselves. I think it was Lynn who agreed she'd also be willing to swap all of her knowledge for a purer love in her worship that sounds good, doesn't it! So it makes you wonder on Matthew 5: which one's really the "fool"?

Excellent post Cathy! I couldnt agree with you more. :drinking: I guess that is why Jesus said we should have the faith of a child.

Ask a child why he believes and he'll tell you "because".

I think that you have inspired me to be more like your friend. I am through debating. I certainly cant say it any better than the Apostles and Early Church Fathers.

Thank you very much for setting me straight.

Much Christian love to you!
