Well that's one way to leave the WatchTower. Who knows, he may be sincere.:dontknow:
Acts5v29
I think it's sad. I'm not exactly a fan of his, but for starters he loses his salvation by converting, because to become Muslim means to deny Christ.:cry:
Well, did he ever have salvation? And since the Witnesses only believe that "the anointed" are in a new covenant relationship with Jehovah, are they really pointing the way to salvation?
I think that Islam would have some saving graces (since they also believe in Jesus, and a modest way of life) were it not for their hypocrisy, violence, and steadfast belief in a burning Hell Fire. In this they are much like Mormons, Baptists, and Catholics, so how could anyone trained in the Bible really come to believe and support such a foul odious religion? Must have been some other influence and motivation... shallowness and stupidity?

Well you're close, Jim. The poor man is a FREAK! Who knows what freakiness was foisted on him by the family, the religion and the lifestyle, and what deviance came from his self's center... but the end result has become a freak of nature, an aberration. I feel sorry for him now... And then 'the artist formerly and presently known as Prince' became a baptised JW... wowee, makes you wonder what in the world happened to 'em. Well.... what the heck happened to us???:funnyface: Lol! Did anybody get the number of that bus? :rofl:
As far as Islam... to Muslims Jesus was a real man, but just a good prophet, not God's Son - they see that as blasphemous to insinuate that God 'procreated'. I had that one friend who left the Witnesses for Islam you know - she tried to explain it to me, but I just wasn't into learning about it. At the time Jesus had just become So Important to me - I wasn't about to let him go, nor do I ever plan to!:cheer:
:peace:
Hi Willa;
Yeah, I had to spend a year in Minneapolis on a consulting job about 5 years ago, and Prince was said to have visited the congregation I associated with from time to time. When he gave his first student talk at a nearby KH, they had to keep it under wraps to keep out the crowds.
I can understand why he (and we) went that way... simply because it's the most logical religious belief. However, they are still so far from truth and Christianity, and "waiting on the Faithful and Discreet Slave" to make the needed changes has wasted a generation... they're fast asleep and spiritually dead.
As for Michael; I was shocked by the Witness' reaction to the charges about him. Back when I accepted him as my brother, I gave him the benefit of the doubt... for that's what we're supposed to do, isn't it? Now I assume that the charges were all true (because of his latest foolish acts), but I find the Witness psyche trained to distrust and look for the worst in everyone, which is simply wrong and another sign of the last days.

Hi MelancholyMuse,:hibye:
I always like reading your stuff - so full of feeling:heartbeat:, and that's what shows we've got hearts!:thumbup:
Do you really think he's lost "salvation"? I'm no "Universal Salvationist" by any means, but I don't buy into the "lose salvation at the drop of a hat" thing either. That's the sort of thing that's tortured JWs and others for years.
I appreciate the feeling over the "impaling the Christ afresh" scripture, but I always saw that as Jews who returned to their traditional hatred of him after following him for a while. Michael Jackson doesn't look as if he has any real hatred in him, but someone blown about on the wind - is weakness really a sin against the holy spirit? I'm sure we will all do better when the Christ returns, when so many pressures of this system are aleviated. But as you say, sad for someone to see their Christian faith as something they can discard so casually. Perhaps he really - really - doesn't understand yet the difference in beliefs, or how they will make him feel.
