"All is Right this Morning"

Last night I was all alone,
No one for company but the rain.
As I listened to the wind moan,
I dreamt in silence of you again.

This morning the sun shines bright
The sky is blue, the grass is green.
I saw you and my heart became light.
I wonder if you see me from in between.

All is right with the world this morning
God's in heaven, looking down on we two.
I feel so close to paradise this morning
Why should anyone doubt you who knew?

So you are gone for the moment, asleep;
Life is too short to play games with love.
And no mountain is too tall, no valley too deep,
To make a difference to God above.

All is right with the world this morning
God's in heaven, looking down on me.
I feel so close to paradise this morning
Would you care to step inside with me?

See the beauty of the world we live in-
No, its not perfect right now, I know.
But someday it will be- free from sin.
And the heights of heaven will be too low.

All is right with the world this morning
God's in heaven, looking down on you.
I feel so close to paradise this morning
What would it be like to be there with you?

Do you still think of me where you are?
Does my love still reach you there in death?
I think it must, I still see your bright shining star.
You left me standing here, holding my breath.

Does the sun shine as brightly for you?
Is the grass as green, the sky as blue?
When you see me, do you feel it too?
Does everything glow with love for you?

Is all right with your world this morning?
God's in heaven, looking down on us.
I feel so close to your paradise this morning
Is God in your heaven, looking down on both of us?

P.S. Are we going to have one thread for all poems?  Or just keep posting new threads for new poems?  Or perhaps one thread per poet?
CaliHavoc you are indeed a maiden to my ears!

Personally, I say keep ya' own thread...

(No ones answered the questions about my guidlines as of yet, however...)

I wrote the following poem when I was fifteen.  To date, it is the only poem I have ever written about the JW's.  When I read it now, I cringe.  But I thought I would share it with all of you because it also makes me cry for my innocence.

The Noise of Many Men
(Micah 2:12)

Laughing, talking, crying, yelling, even smiles are loud here.
A smile can close a gap an auditorium wide.
The future lies with those who make noise now- the noise of a time once and to be.

How can friends be so noisy expressing their thanks at assembling?
Can one language fill a hall so much as to be heard by all the world?
What is the cause for such multitudinous sounds?
Why are people talking the world over?
Where do they come from- these proclaimers of noise?
When will what they be saying come true?

Anyone who thinks they can dispute their crys of joy, their glad tidings, their sound of rejoicing at such news-
Will you please pick up the white courtesy phone.
You have a collect call from the Almighty Creator.
And it may cost you your life.

Inspired by the 1990 "Pure Language" D.C.

Ah Micah..

My heart cries with you... oh when the world still looked pure.

Love
