Hi all,

Truth speaks all languages, for Truth resonates within existence and can be found regardless of any language one may speak or pursue. A word in one language, can have a different meaning in the next -- likewise, a perspective for one person, can be different for the next, and invariably this rings true for most human endevour.

Instead of wading through the depths of what is Truth -- whether our perspective be Greek, English, Maori, Latin, Hebrew or digital! -- let us all shine our God-given Lights and let Truth resonate within our existence!

"Come to a knowledge of the truth" - ewww I hate that sentence. You don't want "a knowledge" you want a deep, intimate, one-one-one, close, beautiful relationship with the one who is the truth.

I don't have "a knowledge" of my husband. Lots of people do but they don't have any sort of depth of relationship with him.

Encountering God and getting to know him is free to everyone, young, old, educated or not.

Hi Guys,

I never thought there was anything serious in this topic, except maybe a little tension between spirit and language. So I just had fun with it, using the old WS mentality. Nonetheless, some people took the topic at face value and wrote fine posts, so it turned out well.

Brendan.
Hi Acts!

Besides, wouldn't we all swap a little of our knowledge of prophecy (if we have any) for a little more sincerity in our worship, because we want to show our love - rather than our "wisdom" - to God?

I would throw away all knowledge for a pure heart. Our source of truth is Jesus, and he provides the spirit as a teacher. Acceptence of what he gives does not depend on a knowlege of scripture or prophecy but instead a soft and accepting heart.

He provides all we need. Through his eyes, he gives us the ability to see the beauty of truth, in whatever way he decides to teach us about himself. Does this include scripture? Yes I believe it can, for example Jesus explained all the prophecies since Moses that pointed to him, to his disiples before he assended. But isn't that the rock of our truth? The understanding that everything has our Lord as the rock, our foundation? It can be a dangerous pit when we replace our foundation, with head knowledge. For our heart no longer hears his voice, but instead our own.

Heb 13:20 God has raised from death our Lord Jesus, who is the Great Shepherd of the sheep as the result of his blood, by which the eternal covenant is sealed. May the God of peace provide you with every good thing you need in order to do his will, and may he, through Jesus Christ, do in us what pleases him. And to Christ be the glory forever and ever! Amen.

This scripture, imo, is relevent to this topic:

Romans 2:9...

"There will be suffering and anguish for every human being who practices doing evil, for Jews first and for Greeks as well.
But there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who practices doing good, for Jews first and for Greeks as well.

For God does not show partiality.

For all who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
For it is not merely those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight. No, it is those who do the law, who will be justified.
For whenever gentiles, who do not possess the law, do instinctively what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.
They show that what the law requires is written in their hearts, a fact to which their own consciences testify, and their thoughts will either accuse or excuse them
on that day when God, through Jesus Christ, will judge people's secrets according to my gospel."
I call it the day I lost my faith. Yes, I didn´t believe anymore.

I KNEW!

It was like having seen the destiny with naked eyes on the horizon after a long, long and tiresome journey.

Now, let me tell you two short stories.

My Father was iliterate. He was faithful. And he was healthy. As soon as he turned 59 ( in 1981) he started telling everyone that he will go home that year. Now, at that time, we laughed at him, because he was so healthy and robust. But he was gone that year.

I had an Aunt who was iliterate. She was faithful. And rich. In the early 1980´s, she started telling everyone of a dream she had, that she was found dead in Jerusalem while watching a TV in a Hotel room.

Now, at that time, we laughed at her dream. We have been living under a communist system and we all knew that it takes upto ten years to obtain a passport, let alone a visa to Israel.

In 1991, the communist system crumbled. A couple of months later, my aunt was found dead. In a hotel room. In Jerusalem. With a remote control in her hand.

Sometimes, I wish I was iliterate and only had that "instinct." I could have spared the long, long tiresome journey.

:read:26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him.

The babes were chosen.. not the wise men, for the most part..

I was thinking of starting a new thread, but I thought it would fit into this topic.:)

1Co 2:12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. :13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
:15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. :16 "For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

How do you feel we are taught by holy spirit?

Yes, absolutely...ditto. What a wonderful example that faith does indeed come by hearing and not reading (Rom. 10:17)...just have to be sure you're listening to the right voice!
