Hi all ... :hibye:

I thought that this might open up a topic for conversation that could be very faith-strengthening and enlightening for us ...

1Cor. 2:10 ...

(ASV) But unto us God revealed them through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

(ALT) But God revealed [them] to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all [things], even the depths of God.

(GNB) But it was to us that God made known his secret by means of his Spirit. The Spirit searches everything, even the hidden depths of God's purposes.

(Murdock) But God hath revealed it to us, by his Spirit; for the Spirit exploreth all things, even the profound things of God.

(WNT) For us, however, God has drawn aside the veil through the teaching of the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, including the depths of the divine nature.

So, what would some of the 'deep things' of God include ... or have we even come to know them yet or is this Scripture yet to have a future fulfillment as it is only when we have the spirit poured upon us that it seems we can do so?

Just a topic to seek to change the 'mood' ... :giverose:

I sincerely love you all and look forward to reading some of the responses if there are any that is ...

See ya later alligators ... BR :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
:wave:Hello dear bent reed!:friends: Great topic!

Just a quick comment - then I'll think some more on what some deep things of God are that have been and haven't yet been revealed....

You asked if this revealing by spirit is future - I confidently say: no.

God (hath) revealed

God made known

God has drawn aside the veil

>>> All past tense - it has been done. It's spoken of as already having been done at the time of the apostles - and imho, the spirit has been present and available to all who've lived since then until now, who seek God through Christ alone. It's how we all came to believe whole-heartedly in Jesus as the Son of God and our Messiah - only by the spirit revealing him to us - I don't think we could even be his believers without it. The holy spirit of God is, now, also the spirit of the Christ, for there is only one spirit, one faith, one hope... just a couple of thoughts...:)

Will come back later, sis. :airkiss:
:peace:
Hi Guys,

I was thinking about the contrast between the deep things of God and the deep things of Satan. The deep things of Satan seem to be very structured, hierarchical and in a sense, academic. The deep things of God seem to be very personal. I guess both of them are based on study, spirituality and meditation.

For me, the deep things of God centre on Christ and how

• It seems that He was begotten of God to be part of our salvation eons before man ever came into the world
• The mission of His brothers and sisters was also known from way back before our beginning
• How Jesus fulfils every prophecy
• How God manages to fulfil His word on several levels while working with imperfect men and alternative outcomes
• How Satan is dealt with along the way

I’m sure there are many more wonders to contemplate. What could incite anyone to study the deep things of Satan? Is belief in God not necessary for belief in Satan, and, that being the case, why would anyone collude with the side that must ultimately lose? I don’t understand that, unless you know the saying ‘a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush’ and risk your eternal life for possible short term gain.

Perhaps meditating on the deep things of God is what gives us our spiritual joy. The Christian life can be very tough at times and the joy we have before us helps to keep us going. It seems very healthy in every way to slow things down and smell the spiritual coffee. It’s a gift, but it can be tough to change gear from all stressed out and the adrenalin flowing to all chilled out and regaining balance to build ourselves up and head out into the world again, spiritually refreshed.

"smell the spiritual coffee" great just great:thumbsup:

but don't you drink tea? or did you become an american? LOL

I remember haveing to ask for white tea? it was too funny.

Seriously Bro,, great thoughts and life is tough enough on the outside we need to keep eachother up while we can.

peace to u bro
Hi Frank,

After five years in Seattle, I became transformed into a latte addict. Even percolated coffee seems so last century. But I still drink tea in the morning - that much of our tradition is intact. What century does tea belong to, the 19th maybe, when the British were in India? When we came home in 1998, we never saw a Starbucks until about two years ago, when the first one arrived in the local shopping mall. now they've increased exponentially. So we can have our triple-shot Americanos to put some pep in our step, and then take the antidote at night in the form of alcohol. I guess we're all a bit like rock stars now - uppers and downers to get through the day!

I became a bit like an ex-pat (no pun intended); I'm neither truly Irish or American. I have one set of colloquialisms for my own crowd, and another for the Americans I speak to online, including my wife's family.

Regards,
Brendan.
hazelnut for me this morning Brendan -- :ok:
ah, hazelnut, the choice of champions! :drinking:

what a great thread by the way. The deep things of God. I am looking forward to contributing a little something but have an extraordinarily busy day today--see you all soon :grouphug:

p.s.-- I am also thinking it would be nice to pump ourselves up with some more great topics and wonderful threads..let's ponder :friends:
We are to be led by the Spirit and not by human leadership.

We are to replace our natural instincts with spiritual instincts.

We are part of a Master Plan.

A single crucifiction saved humankind.

Jesus rose from the dead and we will also.

We can become part of God's Temple now.

A judgement will reveal everyone's true motives.

No more pain suffering sorrow death or evil, all will be new.

In Christ

The Funny part of evrything is it is the simplest of truths that has the deepest meaning.

God Loves us!!!!

And Jesus Loves us as much as God LOVES us.!

All I can do in Life is try to show them I LOVE them back by keeping their commandments. NO amount of study will ever make me LOVE them.

study helps me to understand WHAT LOVE IS. and WHY OUR Savior lost his life and was tortured for us. IT helps me to gain patients as this world unravels to fulfill GOD's true will.
