The Good Word for today is:
Proverbs 1:33: "... but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."

Other Proverbs that come to mind ---

Proverbs 18:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 29:25
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

And then a Psalm of David ---

Psalm 16:1
Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.

We are assured of the safety in God's love when we 'take refuge' in Him - what comforting knowledge! But there is action we must take to come under His divine care ---

Leviticus 25:18, 19
" 'Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws, and you will live safely in the land.
Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety."

We have a lot of help in discerning how to follow His "decrees". God has provided His Word, the Bible, His holy spirit, and the ever-present spirit of His Son, whose example we're instructed to follow closely. We have all this for the asking, with the promise of what our reward will be if we put Him first and really listen to Him and His Son, putting our own selfishness aside, taking His instructions deeply to heart ---

Galatians 1:3-5
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Colossians 1:13, 14
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
2 Timothy 4:18
The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Our hope in God then has this wonderful potential for each one of us 'careful listeners'---

1 Thessalonians 1:4-10 For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

Hallelu-Yah! :cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer:
