Beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God's fear.''--2 Cor. 7:1 :rose:
I looked at many different translations and they all use the expression ''perfecting holiness in God's fear'' .The scriptures of these chapters in Corinthians feel very elegant to me and are overflowing with love for God and fellow believers. A few examples..... :rose:
''Allow room for us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one. I do not say this to condemn you. For I have said before that you are in our hearts to die and to live with us.'' 2 Cor. 7:2-3.... ( I think that is Beautiful :giverose: ) :rose: :rose:
''I am filled with comfort, I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.''
verse 4.....the reason for this was the presence of Titus, and also the good report from Corinth, with that of their longing, their mourning and their zeal for Paul. :rose:
Paul had a deep appreciation for the Christian ministry and this is expressed in 2 Corinthians. He truly viewed himself as a traveler with Christ. :rose:
''Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved.....'' :rose::rose:
and finally a plea not to realize God's grace and miss the purpose... :rose:
''Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Christ Jesus, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us; we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. :rose:
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.'' 2 Cor. 5:18-20 ...... :rose:
There is much good to be said about about these chapters in 2 Cor.
and one can't help but feel the love and the zeal that eminates from Paul....my favorite scriptures for today.... :rose::rose:
''May you have peace and grace from God our Father and (the) Lord Jesus Christ. :rose::rose:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those in any sort of tribulation through the comfort with which we ourselves are being comforted by God.'' 2 Cor. 1:2-4) :rose:
stimulating--encouraging--uplifting and upbuilding--all the good things we too should be to each other as we help each other stay strong in the faith.... :grouphug: :heartbeat: :rose:
