I made this thread but it was deleted without any reason. So here we go again.
The Scriptures can be twisted around just about any way we want by taking things out of context. Once a person determines their mind about an issue, there is no chance of their minds changing.
So let's not abuse the Scriptures by ignoring the context of Bible teachings. If we are not seeking God's heart with an open mind and heart with His Word, we will just abuse the Scriptures to say what we want to believe.
Just my two cents.:)

I would like to add that we can justify anything if our mind is already set.
So just because we list up the verses that does not mean our reasonings are all biblical.

Hitomi, Is the intention for starting the thread discussing/learning together or to condemn/convict? Please respond.

All my threads are my convictions. Of course you have right to oppose them but I will not work to cooperate with pleasing the majority and politically correct views.
thanks,

Lynn,
I believe everyone here are claiming to be doing the same thing. It is endividual's right for the Lord to protest for Him and trying to stop what she is doing is controlling spirit. If you don't believe you should criticize anyone, you should not. It is that simple.
Thank you for joinig this thread, Lynn.

How do you tell which things you are reading into scripture and which things you are not? Certainly all of us at one or another point held a belief that we thought was based in scripture, but turned out false. How do we know we are not living in falsehood, or atleast in as much truth as can reasonably be asked for?

You can ask the person which verse he or she is talking about. But when it comes to just arguments and disagreements we will never come to peaceful conclusion. My context is always God is Love, Holy, Just, fair and so on... If the verses they are using don't go along with that, I don't agree with them.
