There is a frustrating of plans where there is no confidential talk, but in the multitude of counselors there is accomplishment.--Prov. 15:22

This scripture truly speaks to me of the need we have for healthy and wholesome friendships and what a blessing it is to have a trusted companion who you can share your heart with. ...Many have found this wonderful quality right here at Paradise Cafe ...as have I. ..... :cheekkiss: :rose:

Proverbs is truly a gem of a Bible book. It is described as a ''connected poem made up of short discourses as though from a father to a son that deal with the need for wisdom to guide the heart, or motive, and to direct desire. It teaches the value of wisdom and its blessings: happiness, pleasantness, peace and life.'' (1:33; 3:13-18, 8:36) .....In Chapter 15 we find the same warm and wonderful counsel that permeates this entire book discussing everything from the benefits of a mild answer to the benefits of ''confidential'' talk --leading me to thoughts of friendship--true friendship and what a blessing it is :heartbeat: and also what it takes to be considered a true friend--one who can be trusted as a true companion.... :heartbeat: :rose:

''By helping each other with your troubles, you truly obey the law of Christ. When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.'' Galatians 5: 2, 10 ... :rose: :rose:

'' Let us think about each other and help each other to do good deeds. Hebrews 10:24) :rose: :rose:

''Does your life in Christ give you strength? Does his love comfort you? Do we share together in the spirit? Do you have mercy and kindness? If so, make me very happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love, and having one mind and purpose.'' Phil. 2:1-2...... :rose: :rose:

Not everyone has the gift of being a good listener and the ability to give wise counsel. I believe it is a true art but one that can be developed over time. One rule of thumb that I so agree with is ''seek first to understand before being understood.'' What Wisdom. :rose: :rose: :rose:

''The getting of wisdom is O how much better than gold! and the geting of understanding is to be chosen more than silver.'' Prov. 15:16 :rose:

''The one that is wise in heart will be called understanding, and he that is sweet in (his) lips adds persuasiveness. (21) :rose:

''To earthling man belong the arrangings of the heart, but from Jehovah is the answer of the tongue.'' (16:1) .... :rose::rose:

a few thoughts today on the ability to be or become a ''wise counselor'' and the blessings produced by it....these are just a few of my thoughts and where my mind took me---all other thoughts and additional scriptures a blessing :present: ..... :grouphug: :heartbeat:

Hi sis Wolfie

I really enjoyed the scriptures you shared. Wise counselors are such a gift from our Father are they not? Sometimes we do not see the entire picture, and it is difficult to determine what course or changes we need to make so as to follow the right path. It can be very humbling to share confindenatal things with others, but when we can draw on others within the body of christ we are able to experience growth and edification. Each can contribute to the growth of the other, so as to 'complete' the picture and help the other walk a sucessful course.

We are not only given the gift of Jesus, but also that Jesus exists in each other, guiding us and building each other up to accomplish his will.

Praise God for such wonderful love

And what would constitute one as a "wise counselor"? Only one thing.

The "wisdom from above."

True Wisdom Comes from God

13 If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. 15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.

17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
