Hi SW, Your point's well taken. I suspect that that last off the wall statement Mars made about Jesus was a knee jerk reaction aimed at irritating isomam. Mars is human...I really doubt he meant to belittle Jesus by making that comparison with Siddhartha. As we all know, all of Jesus' miracles were done previously by someone in the OT. What does that mean? Nothing!
Peace, e-m
Hi br. emagine ... :hibye:

You made an interesting statement that I am wondering about ... :huh:

You said ...

As we all know, all of Jesus' miracles were done previously by someone in the OT. What does that mean? Nothing!

When I read that I started lookin' around as I tend to do and I am wondering which examples of the 'same miracles' you are speaking about that was done by others in the OT ...? :read:

For I couldn't seem to find one where water was turned into wine ... although I did find a miracle of 'loaves' ... 2Kings 4:42-44 where Elisha fed 100 men on only 20 barley loaves and they had leftovers ... but no 'fish' ones that I have found yet ... neither could I seem to find one that spoke about curing a blind person ...

Then I thought :huh: ... dah ... :funnyface: since emagine said this he must have the accounts so why not ask him? ;):dontknow:

So, here I am ... asking ... :giverose:

One thing I did take note in so far though from my little exploration was that 'LEFTOVERS' seem to be quite around some of these miracles ... (even had me thinking about the droppings from the table of rich) I am sure it must mean something ... not sure yet what though ... :blush:

Anyway, luv as always ... and looking forward to your answer!

BR :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
Yes BR, the water into wine was the one that popped into my head, unless Noah converted water into wine (goodness knows there was enough water around), and then drank some.
I wonder if water into blood was a precursor of the wine miracle.
Walking on water.......I wonder if that is a variant of walking between the walls of water by the Israelites, crossing the Red Sea and the Jordan.

Elisha did twice as many miracles as Elijah, because Elisha saw Elijah go heavenward in the chariot.

I wonder if this is a Jehovah, pushing his son foreward, and Jesus pushing his disciples foreward sort of thing. The disciples saw Jesus go up to heaven, then they received the holy spirit, and did greater works.

I wonder if Jesus has been encouraged to do twice as many miracles as Jehovah. All the creation plus.....

El i Jah, (my) God is Jah
El i sha, (my) God is Salvation

Jehovah, He who causes to become
Jesus...Jehoshua, He who causes to become is Salvation.

I think there is a parallel here.

The emphasis is on salvation. Hence Isaiah 61 was the scripture Jesus chose to read in the synagogue.

Jehovah can do miracles so it is no big deal for Him. He prefers to push His Son foreward. Think what His Son will achieve in just 1,000 years. He will turn us 'orrible ingrates back to perfection.

The humility on the part of Jehovah and His son are amazing. Jehovah allows us to call him, abba, 'Dad', and 'Jesus' is a diminuative.

You may call me vicky instead of victoria coz I like you.

Jehoshua, the son of God, who bares his father's name loves us, so we may call him Jesus.

Rambled enough, just tossing out ideas.

The greatest miracle I have seen?
Creation!
Must ramble about that someday too! My mind seems to be doing the lateral think today.

victoria. Aka the vick chick.

I was referring to Jesus' teachings not his miracles... that most of the amazing teachings attributed to him were actually first taught by Siddhartha Gautama.... such as love your enemies, etc.

http://www.eclectica.org/v2n3/gaborro.html
http://www.heartlandsangha.org/parallel-sayings.html

Maybe this fact is too humbling to even contemplate? Have we used the fact that we have Jesus' teachings as a sledge hammer of arrogance against other people? "Ha I have Jesus' teachings and you don't therefore you are inferior to me" or other intentions of that character... hardly Christ like.

Siddhartha existed a few hundred years before Christ. It should be noted that Siddhartha never claimed to be Christ and in fact he denied that he was. He merely said he was aware.

Even the ministry of Christ is based on that used and instituted by Siddhartha. Buddhist monks would have surely reached Palestine by the first century.

Jesus is not the only one who used non-OT teachings... for example;

Apostle John used the teachings of Heraclitus regarding the 'Logos as the source and fundamental order of the cosmos'.

Apostle Paul used the teachings of Epimenides that 'in Him we have life and move and exist'.

Epimenides was a Stoic philosopher. In fact much of Paul's writings are a reflection of Stoic philosophy with minor differences.

We often get arrogant because we think we are the source of all truth because we have the bible. This unfortunately may be the case because the new testament did not cite it's non-OT sources... or because we prefer the delusion of exclusivity that the NT has no non-OT sources.

I’d seen this thread on the café over the past few days but hadn’t checked it out because, to be honest, ‘coconuts’ have never really taken up much of my thoughts. :dontknow:

What a mistake! :taphead:

I’ve just read the complete thread from ‘post 1’ to ‘post 47’ and it’s been fantastic. So many subjects covered. Educational. :read: Informative. :coffeeread: Such conviction. :readthis: Strong emotions. :rant: Wit. :giggle: :) A wee touch of sarcasm. :whistle: More humour. :D So much to digest!

It’s moved from foils to rapiers to sabres. :dueling: Sabres to cutlasses to broadswords and all the way back again. :pirate1: Thankfully, no blood has been spilled. :ok: :hug:

I certainly don’t think every thread should be based on this ‘model’ but, hey, it’s been a great read! :clap:

However, back to the subject in hand … Coconuts!

Sadly, I’ll have to pass. They give me gas! :redface: :whistle: :blush:

But, I’m sure there’s a scientific explanation for that??? :thinking:

Measurer. :thumbup:
Hi Measurer :hibye:

I don't know about a scientific explanation for your discomfort but we certainly have gone from coconuts to a real strange place :shocked:
even science can't connect these dots :love:
Hi BR!
I knew I would be brought to task on that statement about Jesus' miracles. I admit to taking just a wee bit of licence, as in the turning water into wine, is a transmutation of one molecular structure into another, as Moses turned the Nile into blood and his staff into a snake. Jesus walking on water is an example of levitation, or of an anti gravity force. (2Kings 6:6) the man of God made an ax head float.
The point I was making is that this,, or that Sidhartha may have taught truths earlier then Jesus does not diminish Jesus one iota. That was not Mars intent either.
Cutlasses, Swashbucklin' Broadswords? There you go me hearty!
So much to digest! It is the indigestion that produces the gas.
Some may wonder why God would allow most of Jesus and his Apostles teachings found in the bible to actually be from Buddhism and Stoicism.

This has been God's will based on the blessing of Shem and Japheth.

"Blessed be Jehovah, Shem’s God"

"Lovely Elohim to Japheth" (my translation based on original text)

Japheth's name is used in his own blessing... Lovely means that which appeals to the eyes and mind; Physical beauty as well as innovative genius. This is why most of the innovation in the world comes from Japhetic peoples... including the religious teachings found in the NT.

Buddhism was created by Siddhartha Gautama who was of Madai son of Japheth. Stoicism was created by those of Javan (and Tubal?) son of Japheth.

God has also used Japheth to destroy and enslave the Canaanites; At the same time the Hebrews were destroying the Palestinian Canaanites, the Goths and Celts were destroying the Anatolian Canaanites! The Shem conquest become Israel. The Japheth conquest became Galatia (which were of the first peoples to be converted to Christianity).
Job and Abraham lived before Buddha, yet they seemed to have a good beat on forgiveness, humanity and morals etc.

With good people this is natural, it is human, and was genetically placed in our first parents, though our parents didn't carry this through.

When I read that Adam was not deceived I wonder how much pain and suffering he forsaw, and did he weigh this against the hope of becoming like God. Did Adam become the first seed of satan, because satan certainly knew he was sacrificing all humanity to his power lust? I think Adam did the same, not only sacrificing his children but testing the waters using his wife to do the deed!

The Great Fat Debate - Why Virgin Coconut Oil Is BestThumbsup

HumbleGod Wrote:
On the ketogenic diet, carbohydrates are severely restricted and so cannot provide for all the metabolic needs of the body. Most energy is instead produced by a high rate of fatty-acid oxidation in the cell mitochondria. This produces large amounts of acetyl-CoA, which the liver uses to synthesize the three ketone bodies beta-hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate, and acetone. The brain is normally fueled in the average diet solely by glucose; fatty acids do not cross the blood-brain barrier. Ketone bodies can enter the brain but they are not used preferentially to glucose. The ketone bodies are converted to acetyl-CoA and subsequently to adenosine triphosphate (ATP) as part of the Krebs cycle within the brain mitochondria.

The ketogenic diet results in changes in neurotransmitter levels and the cerebral energy state is improved as well as adaptive changes to brain energy metabolism that increases the energy reserves; ketone bodies are a more efficient fuel than glucose, and the number of mitochondria is increased. This may help the neurons to remain stable in the face of increased energy demand, and may also confer a neuroprotective effect. It is found to have antiepileptogenic properties.

The best source for fatty-acid energy production is coconut because it has an abundance of medium-chain triglycerides, which are much more ketogenic than other fatty-acids. The most abundant oil in coconut is lauric acid which is found in breast milk and is required in the human diet to created 20% of our hormones. The derivative monoglyceride monolaurin is the substance that keeps infants from getting viral and bacterial or protozoal infections. Coconut is anticarcinogenic, antimicrobial, virucidal, improves insulin secretion and utilization of blood glucose, improves calcium and magnesium absorption and supports the development of strong bones and teeth, improves digestion and bowel function, reduces inflammation, improves cholesterol ratio reducing risk of heart disease, functions as a protective antioxidant, improves utilization of essential fatty acids and protects them from oxidation, dissolves kidney stones, supports thyroid function, increases metabolic rate,... just to name some of it's many health benefits... coconut may actually be the fruit from the tree of life!!!

Our original design was to utilize a ketogenic diet, and coconut is the only fruit capable of achieving it.

Fruits originally did not have so much sugar in them! They have been cultivated over the centuries to have excessive amounts of sugar.... If you were wondering how the other fruits fit in...

And if you are wonder why people would still die though eating from the tree of life you must remember the water radiation shield no longer exists to protect us!

I don't encourage you to buy the "coconut" from the average corporate store.... which is mostly water, sugar, and antifreeze anyway!

I personally get mine from this supplier;

http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/...oconut.htm

I was doing some more research...

Mitochondria have many essential functions including;

fatty-acid oxidation (ATP from fats; ketosis)
pyruvate decarboxylation (ATP from carbohydrates; glycosis)

as well as;

Apoptosis-programmed cell death
Cellular proliferation regulation

There is only one ATP generation pathway that does not require the mitochondria;

Lactic acid fermentation (ATP from carbohydrates; glycosis)

Ketosis requires the mitochondria and produces gluconeogenesis and thus secures pyruvate decarboxylation based glycosis.

Hence most dis-ease is caused by the inhibition of the mitochondria from a chronic high (possibly refined) carbohydrate diet.

Malignant rapidly-growing tumor cells typically have glycolytic rates that are up to 20,000% higher than those of their normal tissues of origin. Hence cancer is basically out of control fermentation from dormancy of the mitochondria, preventing proliferation regulation and cell death.

This dis-ease mechanism is exacerbated from highly refined carbohydrate diets, and can be reversed from a medium-chain triglyceride based ketogenic diet.

MCTs are highly ketogenic which allows you to consume non-refined carbohydrates while still maintaining ketosis.

Another way to resolve out of control fermentation (tumors) in the body (besides ketosis) is the use of dichloroacetate;

The dichloroacetate ion stimulates the activity of the enzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase by inhibiting the enzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase. Thus, it decreases lactate production by shifting the metabolism of pyruvate from fermentation towards oxidation in the mitochondria.

The mitochondria being revitalized gives them control of proliferation regulation and cell death... thus they inhibit proliferation or destroy the cell.

Dichloroacetate is considered the number one drug therapy for all cancers! I wouldn't waste my time with surgery or other toxic drugs that are designed to poison instead of address the issue of the mitochondria. Dichloroacetate is not a natural substance, so I would not take it as a preventative.

I just add it here as a note for your benefit if you know anyone that already has significant cancer and is too undisciplined to remove highly refined carbohydrates from their diet and go into ketosis through the medium-chain triglycerides of coconut.
