Re: "Oh, I know I'll regret this..."
Please do not regret your comment/reply.
Thank you for presenting a kind response to an inappropriate comment..namely "...Cushites are confused;"
IMO comments like "...Cushites are confused;" are absolutely out of line/inappropriate/and wrong..(not to mention false and obscene. etc.)..and should not be tolerated!!!
I did not want to add to this thread, yet wanted to thank you 1 of Mini for your kind response.
Christian love to you 1 of Mini.

Also, consider the various scriptures in the Bible which confirm Jehovah's impartiality.
The entire people descended from Canaan have been destroyed.
Descendent's of Shem produced the Christ and have the highest IQ on average.
Descendent's of Japheth are the most innovative...
Noah's blessings and curses have come true to the letter!
Apparently God's impartiality does not stop one from receiving the blessings or curses of our forefathers.

Acts 10:34...
"Then Peter opened his mouth and said, "Now I understand that God shows no partiality.
Indeed, the person who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him in any nation.
He has sent his word to the descendants of Israel and brought them the good news of peace through Jesus Christ. This man is the Lord of everyone."
Go in peace.

My Dear Brother gogh,
It is not my response toward humblegod's inappropriate comment which I regret.
It is having engaged the young man in a thread, that I said from my first comment was not upbuilding to the majority on this board; save one, who attempts to impress others by a showy display of "so-called" knowledge and logic.
I shall never regret the honor of standing up for any of my fellow siblings in Christ.
Yours in Christ's Love,
1 OF MINI

(Exodus 34:7) preserving loving-kindness for thousands, pardoning error and transgression and sin, but by no means will he give exemption from punishment, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons and upon grandsons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation.â€
But under God's kingdom;
(Revelation 22:3) no more will there be any curse.
Note:
Mars has a more pragmatic approach to understanding the bible and worshiping God. His mind works more like a computer then most peoples. Because of this, some of his posts sound more provocative or caustic then intended. Keeping this in mind will help the reader remain calm :P so as to gain the most benefit from his ideas, which he has many of. I for one find his posts stimulating and not the least bit discouraging. e-m ;)

A Swami once said-
"God dwells within all of us.
Our job, is to become fully human."
Hay Christian! Of all the wonderful threads written since then, why did you pick that one for your first post? Just wondering. :coffeeread:
oh,so very impressive, though...do you not think?

[/quotOk Chegele, welcome to the cafe.
FYI, that poster was banned, not because of his topic matter, but because some thought he just wanted to be argumentative, so we are a little gun shy.
Are you saying that you feel that a "true believer" cannot back up his faith by any hard science at all? Why don't you start a new thread and state your views.

Please don't invite the empty verbose. The scroll wheel on my latest mouse is already wearing out.
Mars is alive and well and still living on another planet, as attested to by my skype address for him.
Chris Hegele if you have something good to say make it your own and keep it short.

I'm a Philosophy student, so I couldn't help myself.
I'm also an Anglican, and a firm believer that theism is a matter of faith and faith alone.
Greetings Chegele,
Welcome to the board.
Yes, as our brother e-magine stated Mars was banned.
However, if you are so inclined to engage this young man in conversation...
By poking around a bit, you can easily find his website and e-mail.

No!No!-Don't do it!-you've been warned-No!No!-Don't do it!
As for this thread... well... there's a reason some things shouldn't be allowed to see the light of day. :D

Essentially my views are that human beings are frail and human knowledge always incomplete. I don't just mean that can we not prove that God must exist using reason, which is an old chestnut in Christian theology. I contend, much more strongly, we first need to believe in God to be confidence in our ability to reason about anything at all.
It is God who created us and in his goodness gave us reliable faculties to be able to comprehend his creation. Excuse the rhetorical flourish, but the basic idea is this: praise be to God that he gave me the faculty to know that 2+2=4, that F=mA, that killing is wrong, and everything else that I can know. Epistemically, it's the foundation upon which all knowledge is based.
If not by reason that we come to believe in God, is this belief ascended to arbitrarily? No. Humans are inclined to it by nature, it's programmed into us.
hi chegele! :hibye: welcome to paradise cafe. :welcome: frankly, i like the way you think. and, i like the way you express yourself so precisely. you obviously have a great deal to offer to others in terms of your accumulated learning. just a friendly word of advice, though. jesus said for us all to become like little children in our powers of reason and understanding. you will reach far more people -- far more hearts -- here by choosing simpler words and expressions. just like jesus did in his sermon delivered on the mountain. anyway, glad to have you join us here and i look forward to many mutually-satisfying exchanges.
your friend and brother, ... isomam

Faith IS necessary to build confidence in our ability to comprehend God, or, to realize we are Godlike. But for some, knowledge comes before faith.
I agree that it's programed into us. That makes it easy for us to see "proofs" of God in our acquisition of knowledge. However, many people in our enlightened age are taught that faith is only for the uneducated.
Therefore they use their knowledge to try and disprove what we should already know by our nature, IE, "where did I come from? I am too wonderful to be an accident of chance"
An ancient Shaman could see beyond our 3 dimensional universe and see God, without the benefit of scientific knowledge.
But today, Quantum physicists are coming face to face with a creator God, in spite of themselves. Knowledge came first, then faith!
In the end, true knowledge, as it is discovered, leads a humble person to faith.
