Good evening all ... I'm back home now and so will get to work on putting up the text for ya'll ... :post: :grouphug::heartbeat:
The scripture for this day is from 1Cor. 7:28 ...
Those who (marry) will have tribulation in their flesh.
Watchtower comments ...
''When problems arise in a marriage, you need to look for solutions together as loyal marriage mates seeking to please Jehovah. This takes effort. For instance, it may be that a pattern of unkind speech has crept into the marriage and now characterizes it. (Prov. 12:18) This can have devastating effects. A Bible proverb says: ''Better is it to dwell in a wilderness land than with a contentious wife along with vexation.'' (Prov. 21:19) If you are a wife in such a marriage, ask yourself: ''Is my disposition making it difficult for my husband to be around me?'' The Bible tells husbands: ''Keep on loving your wives and do not be bitterly angry with them.''(Col. 3:19) If you are a husband, ask yourself, ''Is my demeanor cold, tempting my wife to seek comfort elsewhere>'' Of course, there is no excuse for sexual immorality. Yet, the fact that such a tragedy could happen is good reason to discuss problems openly.'' w06 9/15 2:12,13
My thoughts ...
(ASV) But shouldest thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Yet such shall have tribulation in the flesh: and I would spare you.
It seems that for whatever reason there is no evidence that Paul was a married man himself, and yet his unmarried state did not cause him to expect this state for others ...
To me whether single or married, there will always be 'tribulation' or 'troubles', things that will bring us 'anguish' and things that will cause us great joy!
While it is true that being single gives one more time perhaps to devote to spiritual things, there are many people who are single today who do not take advantage of this 'freedom' at all, or some very little ... while some who are 'married' make it their lives work to devote themselves to spiritual interests ...
I think that for me the thing to remember that WHATEVER we are doing let us do it WHOLE-SOULED to our God ... whether single or married ... and learn to deal with and cope with whatever tribulations we have to endure, be it in a single or married state!!
Being single, Paul couldn't really appreciate all the 'good' things that comes from being married along with the hard times that can come as well ... but in having our three-fold cord firmly in place we can make anything work can't we!!
Well, that's it for yesterday's ... now on to today's ... :post: :giverose:
Luv as always ... BR :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
