The Amway analogy is a good one. I made the connection a long time ago after going to a meeting with a couple of buddies of mine. The first thing I noticed was the suit and ties and cheerful smiles on everyones faces. Their pitch never sunk through for me, probably because of self doubt on my part, but I got some free soap and shampoo.:D I did'nt hear from my buddies for a few months till they dropped out, one was 10 grand in debt with their products. Im thankful I never put a dime into this company and no more then a twenty dollars donation to the Watchtower. I just wish I could have seen what the tower really was at that moment in time, but religous cults trap a person with the "salvation" dogma routine. Thank God for the internet. Scrolling down a little to Danny Haszards comment, I hope he can find some peace of mind and quickly.

Mr. B
Hmmm, now that you bring that up Mr B.,

Amway=:pyramid:
Watchtower=:pyramid:

That about sums it up.;)

I agree with everything this person says with the execption that the cost is membership.

All of the Witnesses are told that in order to gain salvation, they must have knowledge that comes from the 'faithful and discreet slave' class. This ofcourse means that you have to have the writings in order to be saved. And what good Witness is not going to donate for the liturature? So it is a lot like a crack dealer. The first dose if free because once you are hooked, you will be willing to fork out the money for more.

the average JW has no idea that the WBTS is a multi billion dollar corporation!

Verily.

So what about this worldwide work, what is it and who benefits from it? Well the majortiy of this money is invested, and the rest is loaned to local congregations for building Kingdom halls, yes I did say loaned, and interest is asked on those loans too! So here is where things become quite amusing, not only do the local JW's build their own halls, working for free, they also pay interest to the WBTS to borrow back their own money to pay for the materials!

Sounds just like the private, foreign owned: Federal Reserve.

there is another thing they are doing all this for, that is the chance to win the grand prize of everlasting life in paradise! Despite the fact that the bible even the JW version says you cannot earn this, somehow they have gotten it into their heads that you can.

(John 5:24) . . .Most truly I say to YOU, He that hears my word and believes him that sent me has everlasting life, and he does not come into judgment but has passed over from death to life. . .

(Romans 8:1) . . .Therefore those in union with Christ Jesus have no condemnation. . .

(Romans 11:6) . . .Now if it is by undeserved kindness, it is no longer due to works; otherwise, the undeserved kindness no longer proves to be undeserved kindness. . .

(Ephesians 2:8-9) 8 By this undeserved kindness, indeed, YOU have been saved through faith; and this not owing to YOU, it is God's gift. 9 No, it is not owing to works, in order that no man should have ground for boasting. . .

(Titus 3:5) . . .owing to no works in righteousness that we had performed, but according to his mercy he saved us through the bath that brought us to life and through the making of us new by holy spirit. . .

How on earth have they managed to get people to buy into this, when even their own literature says the contrary? It's called doublespeak, something the WBTS are very well versed in, the art of saying one thing while implying another
