A few years back, a friend (not a "JW") asked me, "would you donate blood?" 'If I would refuse it, why would I donate it?', I reasoned. After visiting http://www.ajwrb.org/ a few months ago, my trust in the command center waned away. God wants mercy, and not sacrifice! (Proverbs 21:3; Hosea 6:6) Supposing the Elders believe their position on blood is doctrinally correct, would it not be their duty to try to reason with you? (Acts 17: 2,3)

Matthew 9:12-13 N.W.T

". . .Hearing [them], he said: “Persons in health do not need a physician, but the ailing do. 13 Go, then, and learn what this means, ‘I want mercy, and not sacrifice.. . ."

Well Micah, I can now see where this is all heading. And daily I see more idiocy rising until there will be none who will have the strength or courage to cry "foul!"

So very much has changed since I joined ranks. One day they will come for me too, I suppose. Perhaps for now they think I'm not so easy to kill, I don't know. All I know is that it wasn't I who changed. It was them. So really, I look forward to when they come for me, for I will not go so quietly I think. I just pray the spirit will give me the strength that day to say what I truly want to say.

Love to you and yours,:giverose:

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me -
and by then there was no one left to speak out for me.

Pastor Martin Niemöller

Disfellowshipping along with the command not to talk to the disfellowshipped is their way of silencing us. No judicial committee is held in front of the congregation, otherwise it would be obvious that the tactics are a sham to silence the ones who can see what is going on. I hope one day if they do come for you. you will have the opportunity not to go quietly.
All the best to you SW.

Dear S3RAPH1M,

My point in donating blood was that the Witnesses DO accept blood now- even if only in fractions- IT IS STILL BLOOD, blood that somebody donated. So if it is okay to accept fractions, why is it not okay to donate fractions? Just because I donate all the fractions all together, it should still be acceptable- if you have any common sense and can see logic at all.

The elders could not see logic, nor common sense. They couldn't even tell me why it was a big deal, since- according to them- donating blood is entirely a "conscience" matter!!!!!

I'm not sure what you meant with this comment.

But for you, dear Seraphim, I suggest you listen to your conscience. I would not have you a slave to my conscience! What I believe is acceptable, what my conscience allows me to do, may not be what yours allows you to do. And that is fine. We will all face Jehovah for our own deeds- nobody else's! If you don't want to accept blood fractions, good for you. If you don't accept blood fractions, you have no need to donate. And if you don't feel comfortable donating, then don't. Much love to you.

Much love and peace to all, and to all a good night!;)

Yep! Just like paying taxes! (Romans 13:6) It's not up to me that tax money might go to armaments, gay rights or other political interests. Common sense is common sense, saith the wise one!

I appreciate the logic here...something the watchtower seems to be allergic to. The only way to get fractions is from whole, donated blood. That's it! So IF it's a "conscience matter" to accept fractions or to donate whole blood...why would someone be DF'd for following their conscience? For one reason and one reason only...it still violates the institutional conscience of the watchtower. I've noticed that it's politically-correct to say "it's a conscience matter." That sounds sexy, doesn't it? But the fall-out from exercising your own conscience is something else altogether: "Feel free to exercise your conscience in any way you choose...but you will get the boot for a rebellious attitude." Hard to hold those troops together without that institutional conscience!

I don't know why anyone would try to follow the elders' line of reasoning. They can't possibly be all that bright to attempt to enforce something so patently illogical.

It isn't a case of being bright, Gus. It's a case of being blinded! Blind, unflinching allegiance to a likewise blind unflinching entity! Sad, isn't it?:seehearspeak::(

Just had an amazing conversation.
I was talking to an Indian, probably in Bangalore, sorry 'Bangalore' about a BT phone account. Someone ran up £200 on my account, but it is not addressed to me, the direct debit is.
He was Punjabi and said that he hoped I would be blessed.
Being female (and an ex WT ite) I probed for answers, you know nosey bod!
He has a great faith in God and hoped for his blessing on me. Some have the right heart but not the knowledge.
I believe, Job had little more information. But that doesn't matter, in the end it will be heart.
Therefore it will not ever be religion, but attitude

Knowledge, will never be the biggie, love from the heart is what Jehovah is looking for.

Oh and still trying to sort out the £200 prob.

It is so strange.
Stranger still is that my brother is one of the HLC (Hospital Liaison Committee), yet faints at the sight of blood.

We can't do blood, unless it is smuggled in our lunch box, one faction/piece at a time.

Dear Calihavoc,:giverose:

Nice to "meet" you. I see you haven't posted for awhile. How do you think your life has changed from here? I am curious, I can see you reaped benefits from this forum and am happy to be your sister.

What means do you take for spiritual guidance and protection? Do you ever feel on your own? These are my own personal ponderings concerning myself and I hope some other brothers and sisters will comment.

I look forward to chitty chatting!:grouphug:
