Good evening all ... :D:hibye: I hope today has been one that has brought you some blessing from Jehovah in one way or another ... :present:
The scripture for today is from Jam. 3:8 ...
An unruly injurious thing, (the tongue) is full of death-dealing poison.
Watchtower comments ...
'''James was aware of this vital truth: An unruly tongue is destructive. Undoubtedly, he was familiar with the Bible proverb that compares thoughtless words to ''the stabs of a sword.'' In contrast, the same proverb says that ''the tongue of the wise ones is a healing.'' (Prov. 12:18) Indeed, words can have a powerful effect. they can hurt, or they can heal. What effect do your words have on your marriage mate? If you asked your spouse this how wuld he or she answer? If hurtful speech has crept into your marriage, you can change the situation for the better. However, effort will be required. Why? For one thing, there is the imperfect flesh to contend with. Inherited sin exerts a negative influence on the way we think and speak to one another. ''If anyone does not stumble in word James wrote, ''this one is a perfect man , able to bridle also his whole body.'' --Jas. 3:2. w06 9/15 1:4,5
My thought ...
Boy does Jehovah ever answer prayers  ... and fast ... as I was praying for help while doing dishes not 10 minutes ago ... believe it or not the verse prior to the verse for todays text gives me some added information for my research on the 'serpent' and it too cool ...
Anyway, onto to today's text ... trying to switch 'gears' ...
The tongue ... or another way to put our ...
WORDS ...
Yes our words ...
Can be used for good or bad ...
Can heal or hurt ...
Can build up or tear down ...
Can be positive or negative ..
Can praise God or curse Him ...
Can bring together or tear apart ...
Yes, our tongue is a very versatile organ isn't it ... and with the music it plays will be pleasant or grinding to the ear  or sweet or sour to the taste ...
Our words can cause a person's good reputation to be 'killed' ... so let us be very careful what we 'pass on' to others ...
While we seek to use the former instead of the latter as the scriptures make clear, because none of us are 'perfect' yet and no matter how hard we may try we cannot control it ... :(
So, what do we do then ...? :dontknow:
Well if we remain humble, be like 'children' then we will sincerely ask for forgiveness when we 'stumble in word' so that any 'fires' that occur can be quickly doused with love and God's fruitages of the spirit ...
This type of attitude should be present in all areas of our lives, from our families, congregation, work, school ... whereever ...
So, if there are times when our tongue is too fast to 'bite' ... or hold on to ... then let us seek to do what our Chrisitan exemplar would do and 'make peace' (if at all possible) so that our 'body' ... our 'family' ... will be united, peaceful, and loving in all we seek to do as well as say!
Well, that's it ... :giverose:
Luv to ya'll ... BR :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
