***Rant alert***
Yet another All-religions-are-relative, belief-hinders-progress anti-God rant. I've yet to find a single definition of what progress is, let alone how this defintion is justified on an atheistic worldview. The article assumes that communication with a transcendant God is impossible because the physical world is all there is. It deliberately mis-construes the nature of sin and redemption.
Religions have done evil in the name of God. But is that the end of the matter? What about all the good that people have done in the name of religion? And havent just as many atrocities been commited in the name of unbelief?
"History is clearly one very long and tragic tale of believers fighting one another and screwing up the lives of all those peaceful nonbelievers, and those just trying to get some quiet time for meditation. Belief is then the problem, and not the solution"
Peaceful is the last thing i would call this article. Infact, it seems cut from the same branch as Richard Dawkins & his atheistic motley crew.

Im glad that's off my chest!:drinking:

Ya have to be careful of "the rant," Pedro. It's what the atheist loves to see.
I've had several interactions with atheists through discussion boards, etc. I've even had a few in real life. They get angry and frustrated and stomp their feet and have temper tantrums. They've called me every name in the book. My favorite is "knuckle-dragger." They have their own religion, worshiping their own minds (such as they are) and their "quick" wits; and do appropriate obeisance several times every day. Not much to worry about. I usually end up with this statement: "You'd better hope that natural selection isn't the truth...or I may have to call you 'lunch.'" Honestly, I have never met a self-proclaimed atheist who could "hold his own" in nature for more than a couple days...and that only if the weather is conducive. They love to chatter on about how belief in God has been a 'curse on mankind.' I only have to point out: "well...you're here, aren't you?" Without the grace of God, most of them would have been eaten alive...literally.

Good advice Gus. Its amazing what lengths people go to in trying to get the "high ground", isn't it? It's like two people who speak two different languages trying to understand each other by gradually shouting louder.
LOL! Knuckle-dragger aint such a bad dig. I quite like it! It seems to sit in stark contrast to my favourite: "Pete the Sheep", which was coined by an ex-girlfriend of mine. Apparently im easy led.
Pete.
