Dear Pete,
Since our Father dwells in paradise and we are here in the finite world as mortals, we do need faith to discern the Father. But the fact is that God accepts us where we are in the eternal now. Never think that you need to reach some artificial level of perfection before the Father will accept you. All that you need is the faintest glimmer of faith and the Father will open Himself to you. He knows that we are earnestly searching for Him. When he sees that earnest desire, He makes sure that we will find Him. We are at a seeming disadvantage because we cannot see the Father, but He has solved that issue by having His spirit dwell within us. The infinite God reaches down to his finite creatures by having His spirit live within us. His spirit urges us on to aspire Godward. This is open to every man, woman or child, if that is what they want.
Remember Pete that Paul said: "You are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you." You view yourself as too imperfect to warrant a relationship with God. Yet, God loves you so much that he has chosen to dwell within you. He views your body as a potentially sacred place. Yet, he will not violate your free will. But as long as your will allows it, the Father's Spirit will increasingly energize and elevate your thoughts to more closely align with the Father's will. Remember that we will never thirst for spiritual water. There is a never ending supply that will bubble up in us and lead to everlasting life.
We all have a struggle in this mortal life Pete. There is a struggle of fleshly, animalistic desires fighting against the urgings of the Spirit. The Father's Spirit helps us in our struggles and enables us to overcome our fleshly weaknesses. This same Spirit of God can help us to obtain faith where such is lacking. And isn't it true Pete that all those led by the Spirit of God, are sons of God? The Spirit of the Father gently and lovingly guides us as we progress in this world. The Father's Spirit says to us, in effect, "This is the way, walk in it you people."
Love,
Paul

May LOVE be with you!
your bro -- beau! :friends::friends::friends:
