A detailed read not for the faint of heart or the closed of mind, The Sign of the Last Days - When? is a definite must read for persons interested in the meaning of “the sign” of Matthew 24 and Luke 21. The book cover cites a few probing questions:

Did Jesus tell his followers to be on the watch for certain global conditions that would signal his imminent parousia or coming? Has our twentieth century witnessed such conditions with greater intensity than ever before? What do the surprising facts of history reveal regarding claimed evidence for our day?

This book is a mindblower. If the details prove to be true this is yet another gaping hole in the WT’s theology. I hope you all get it and carefully read it because the implications are that how we understand “the sign” and the parousia are completely and totally wrong. For those that have read it I’d sure like to hear your inputs in the interests of making sure of all things. This book is not preterist.

I read this book a couple years ago and I just finished reading it again in order to nail down the technical points in my own mind because the ramifications are headspinning. For myself, I’m convinced that the WT’s teaching that “the sign” was to include visible global events that would signal the parousia is totally wrong. Also - the understanding that the parousia was to be an invisible presence - that preludes the actual coming – is in error as well. Of course everyone must do their own determination whether this book correctly analyzes “the sign” and the parousia.

… Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU..."
Matthew 24:4

Hi veritas re

I don't need to read the book myself to know that his conclusions are right - Mathew 24 and Luke 21 are not some signs of futuristic "last days" events, but describe events that would primarily befall the Jews back in the 1st century.
Here is chapter 6 from this book titled Is Today’s "Increasing of Lawlessness" Unprecedented?
