well here is a sad bit of news--CNN is announcing Dan Fogelberg died yesterday at his home from prostate cancer--he was 56 years old. :( I have loved his music since the 70's and found him to be such an insightful and thoughtful song writer--I could listen to his music over and over and--over. What a talent he had and what sensitivity he showed through his songs. I am very sure he will be deeply missed.....:heartbeat:
I think his song ""Leader Of The Band'' was perhaps my favorite although ''Run For The Roses'' is right there too--amazing insights...:(
Hi Wolfie: I was also very sad when I heard the news; it is indeed a terrible loss. I remember the first time I fell in love.
I gave this song to the girl I’ve loved the most in my whole life:

Longer than thereve been fishes in the ocean
Higher than any bird ever flew
Longer than thereve been stars up in the heavens
Ive been in love with you.
Stronger than any mountain cathedral
Truer than any tree ever grew
Deeper than any forest primeval
I am in love with you.
Ill bring fires in the winters
Youll send showers in the springs
Well fly through the falls and summers
With love on our wings.
Through the years as the fire starts to mellow
Burning lines in the book of our lives
Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow
Ill be in love with you.
Longer than thereve been fishes in the ocean
Higher than any bird ever flew
Longer than thereve been stars up in the heavens
Ive been in love with you
I am in love with you.
you have been reading my mind Terra. I almost put that song as my top favorite and have been humming it all morning. it is an amazing love song--it has a sadness to it also don't you think? All I want to do today is listen to his cd.......:(
