I simply cannot envisage that happening, on the contrary scientists and government believe in themselves.they believe in evolution , mans ability to survive. survival of the fittest
Their reaction will be more in the mind set of i cannot save the planet and human kind but how can i save myself!
they will plan for such a catastrophe just as when nuclear oblivion threatens they use their wealth power and skills to minimise the impact to themselves.

i just cannot see them changing and calling on someone they have never believed in to rescue them!
if we consider scripture with regard to the return of Christ we see a major judgment taking place, and a great deal of suffering
zephaniah 1:14-18
" the great day of the Lord is near
it is near and hastens quickly
the noise of the day of the Lord is bitter
there the mighty man shall cry out
that day is a day of wrath a day of trouble and distress
a day of devestation and desloation
a day of darkness and gloominess
a day of clouds and thick darkness

aginst the fortified cities and against the high towers
i will bring distress upon men and they shall walk like blind men

their blood shall be poured out like dudt
and their flesh like refuge
neither their silver or their gold shall be able to deliver them
