Dear friends of the 101 discussions. Something has been happening recently that has necessitated an important change for our weekend groups at Hot Conference.
Apparently we have been experiencing attempts at disruption from a "cyber-stalker" who is technically proficient enough to hack a brother's connection....and who bragged about it. 'Nuff said, as I don't wish to give this/these individual/s any more attention than necessary.
Since most of us use our real names and often share personal information as friends we find it needful to have the room Password-Protected. I will try to contact all our group with the password and would appreciate it if you refrain from giving it out.
If anyone is missed or would like to join in as a participant or listener please PM or email me for the password. All we require is that you identify yourself to the others in the room when asked. Some of us use the same handle in all forums but we freely share these with the others so that we have an idea who we're communicating with.
The internet is an "iffy" means of meeting together at times and we really are glad when we can get to know one another in spite of the difficulties inherent in this medium. Personal safety is important in order to build and maintain trust.
We really didn't want to have to put a password on the room but the safety of our people and their computers comes first. Thanks for your patience.
Love, Rez

I didn't even think that was possible - but there ya go, I'm wrong again! And it makes me wonder, just who would want to do that? I don't 'get' that kind of behaviour.
As gus suggests, it seems to be an impotent display of power. (I thought 'cajones' was an Italian dish... bon appetit! But then, I've been so sheltered.
)

Perhaps e-bay.
