Dear friends of the 101 discussions. Something has been happening recently that has necessitated an important change for our weekend groups at Hot Conference.

Apparently we have been experiencing attempts at disruption from a "cyber-stalker" who is technically proficient enough to hack a brother's connection....and who bragged about it. 'Nuff said, as I don't wish to give this/these individual/s any more attention than necessary.

Since most of us use our real names and often share personal information as friends we find it needful to have the room Password-Protected. I will try to contact all our group with the password and would appreciate it if you refrain from giving it out.

If anyone is missed or would like to join in as a participant or listener please PM or email me for the password. All we require is that you identify yourself to the others in the room when asked. Some of us use the same handle in all forums but we freely share these with the others so that we have an idea who we're communicating with.

The internet is an "iffy" means of meeting together at times and we really are glad when we can get to know one another in spite of the difficulties inherent in this medium. Personal safety is important in order to build and maintain trust.

We really didn't want to have to put a password on the room but the safety of our people and their computers comes first. Thanks for your patience.

Love, Rez Giverose
I'm surprised you made it as long as you did, Rez.

The internet world is real-life revenge of the nerds. Taking the queue from those cowardly boys who bullied them in their youth, these new world "paragons of virtue" drool all over themselves finding even newer ways to make someone's life miserable. And, just like little boy bullies, they lack the cajones to deal with someone with a sense of decency straight up.

Nothing new under the sun.

We gathered in relative peace for quite some time, so we can be thankful for that. Group Hug
Kinda freaks me out that the hacker(on Sunday) was able to shut down one member's disscussion room access - who knows how to do that?!!! Help I didn't even think that was possible - but there ya go, I'm wrong again! And it makes me wonder, just who would want to do that? I don't 'get' that kind of behaviour.Huh As gus suggests, it seems to be an impotent display of power. (I thought 'cajones' was an Italian dish... bon appetit! But then, I've been so sheltered. Giggle)

BTW - I LOVE your new signature quote! Thumbsup That Tom Jefferson was quite The Man! Drinking

I'm too innocent to know what a cajone is but I think they come in pairs. Blush Perhaps e-bay.Eat

The good news is that we had our brother back for our bible reading group.

Lots of love all, Rez Giverose

Actually, being in the computer business myself, I know that it does not take a really intelligent person to do this. Any five year old can be taught how to trace an IP address via the tools on the web and trace someone. If the truth be told I think that I monkey could be taught the steps.

So tell this person that I would not be bragging about something any idiot can be taught to do.
Never fear, vickster is here.

Back again, on-line, to bug you all.

Another person, who is computer savvy has been having problems from someone(s) with a 'hacking cough' who is attacking them.

Anyway it is lovely to see you all again.
I will give you a written update, as to my experiences, when I have the time.

As to 'cajones'....well......

I once went to a rustic French restaurant with an Italian overtone, in Nice called 'La Trappa' and the dish of the day was 'Testicules Paneeds' (should be an accute accent on the e).
Paned means toss/fried.
So meal of the day was toss/fried.... houbrie-doubries.
Fortunately, (she says in deep voice) the dish off the day was off!
'La Trappa' means 'The Step': So watch your steps in foreign climes.
I didn't even ask what man or beast they may have come from.
I do know a silly joke about an Englishman in a Spanish restaurant ordering a meal after a bullfight, though.
This time the bull had won, and the usual serving was smaller!

Back to the point, there may even be people on this board who are hackers, so please be careful.

I hope to stay in touch this time, but I work long hours. Have missed you all.

Piglet.

So glad your back Vics you have been missed alot.

Smile
