Hi Bangalore,

Having not read the book myself, although I planned to get around to it someday, why put only four chapters online and from somewhere in the middle of the book????

agape,
James

No idea about why only four chapters are available. Perhaps it could be due to copyright.

Bangalore... greetings

I'm still looking for the reference from this book (page number) where it was discussed that 700,000+ were dF'd over the 1975 fiasco... can you help?

thanks

This man has my greatest admiration for his Christian stand and allegiance to Jehovah over man.:read: On reading these chapters my heart went out to all of those brothers and sisters who were interrogated, just as Franz stated, as though it were the inquisition, because of their consciences toward God.:readthis: What a terrible time it must have been for all of them, especially as most of them didn't have homes or work to fall back on. They were thrown out of the synagogue, as Jesus stated, without mercy or compassion. And by those they had known for a lifetime of sacrifice.:cry:They deserve our utmost respect, and I sincerely hope that they will one day be rewarded with acknowledgement for what they so bravely endured under duress. :cry:I hope all will come to an honest understanding of what really went on behind the walls of the Watchtower in those(particular) oppressive years. I don't doubt at all that it still goes on today.:readthis:This is what true Christianity is. Following God as ruler rather than man.:read:I, for one, am so grateful for those men and women who suffered the consequences of their allegiance to God.
All that came to mind when reading those chapters was Matt 23:read:Terrible, indeed.
Agape to all,
Sis Grateful :giverose:

Oh, yes! An excellent chronicle, even though the atmosphere is claustrophobic to say the least. I'm sure many remember the icy feeling in their heart as they saw no assistance or reason from those around them.

Perhaps we could remember in our prayers please all the other brothers and sisters who are going through the same - whether in the WatchTower or other faiths.

Many thanks Brother Franz (just incase you happen to read this thread)

Acts5v29

If you look at the annual published figures in the Wt. mag. for 1975-1980 the figure is around 600,000 + who left. I don't recall a large number being df'd during that time, most just simply left and stopped their religious affiliation with the Wt. Society. I supose they would be considered df'd since resigning has the same social punishment of not being spoken to.

Yes, Acts 5v29 we should pray for all those who are going through this kind of unchristian mistreatment, whatever Christian (and none) membership they hold.:read: And, I am sure there are many!:readthis. All for the sake of righteousness.Yes, I wholeheartedly agree that we should all thank Brother Ray Franz for his unequivocal stand against so many who were quite prepared to distort facts and accuse anyone and everybody, for whatever reasons they deemed fit.:readthis: Certainly, those tormenting innocent brothers and sisters were most certainly not following biblical standards!:cry:Hopefully, they will get their just rewards, and soon.
Agape to you,

[b]What great timing Bangalore - I just finished reading the book - got it out from the library - cant wait to read "In Search of Christian Freedom"

I think it's one of the best books i have ever read - because it's has confirmed so many things i had been feeling while being in the org - and i would doubt myself so much and think i was crazy - now i know why there has always been such confusion for me ever since i have been associated with the wt - i think the term is cognitive dissonescense (sorry about the selling) so many conclusions Brother Franz came to were very similar to conclusions i had come to as well - and so many times reading the wt and other publications and just couldnt see scriputally how they would come to their ideas - and dogmatic ideas at that - with no room for free thought or even to trust ones own thinking

I wish i had read that book years ago - now i know how it all works up there in the tower and understand how the lack of love and care for the individual has filtered down to the under rulers of the organization - and how sad to see these DO, CO, PO, Elders, Servents - all the ruling elite - are damaging the sheep with their alligence to the ruling G Body - i have always found the lack of love and discermant for individual circumstances and personalities so terrribly lacking by the judges![/b

Thanks for that sis Grateful. There are quite a few folks who have even phoned or written to Ray Franz to apologize personally for believing and repeating the slander without checking his side of the story.

We, at least, have a large Christian community for support in going through our own personal "crisis of conscience". I for one, love you all for being there for me. Thanks to all for your spiritual support!:grouphug:
