I got this e-mail from one of the people from my church, she pretty much sent it to the entire congregation:

Subject: ALERT! Upcoming Children's Movie

If you have or know those who have children that could attend this movie, please pass this on to them.
You may already know about this, but I just learned about a kids’ movie coming out in December 2007 starring Nicole Kidman. It's called “The Golden Compass”, and while it will be a watered down version, it is based on a series of children's books that are anti-faith. (It is the anti-Narnia). The author is an atheist who has written a trilogy of books where the children ultimately kill God.
From what I understand, the hope is to get a lot of kids to see the movie - which won't seem too bad since it is watered down, and then get the parents to buy the books which contain his real message for their kids for Christmas.
The quotes from the author sum it all up. I'm going to tell everyone about this movie.
"SNOPES" verifies the above. Please follow this link, and then pass it on.

We should all pass this on to everyone we can. This is Satanic trickery at it's worst!

Do you remember Harry Potter? When my kids were small Mickey Mouse was a scorcerer in one disney film.... the care bears did battle with Dark Heart and the Smurfs' arch enemy was Gargamel, named after one of the great gods (?)... Gargamel was a scorcerer too...

While I'm in agreement that christian parents who pay attention will keep their children away from such things, I cannot believe the outcry... I'll bet these same folks subject their children to all types of evil in little ways everyday and never even think about it. Children cannot be raised in a bubble... if they are properly taught AT HOME they can withstand any of the B.S... If they know about God and Jesus and the plan of salvation they will laugh this other stuff right out of their little lives... If a parent tells such a child about such a film as the Golden Compass, the rightly disposed child would say something akin to "WHy would anyone want to see a movie like that?

These situations can easily be turned into a positive lesson I think... So I have not signed any petitions against these idiots... not even Monty Python
on the other hand....

this flick is educational...(imo)...

Well, for anyone who has actually read His Dark Materials, it's the universe giving Adam and Eve a second chance, and the rapture coming down upon the worlds. The children do not actually kill God, they kill the Metatron and are seeking where the multiverses came from. Some people obviously do not have lives.
Can't wait to see that film, Gogh! Looks such an inspiring film, and one in which, I hope, many young ones will go to see.
