Good afternoon! :D I hope this day finds all of you well and as happy as we can be as we seek to survive in this wicked old world as we serve our God shoulder to shoulder :grouphug: in love :heartbeat: and peace!! :peace:

The scripture for today is from Ps. 65:4 ...

We will certainly be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holy place of your temple.

Watchtower comments ...

''David was not permitted to supervise the construction of Jehovah's house. Instead, that privilege was reserved for his son Solomon. David did not murmur because someone else was granted the privilege that he himself so earnestly desired. What was most important to him was that the temple be built. He whole-heartedly supported the project. Faithful Israelites also supported the arrangements made for true worship at the house of God. As present-day servants of Jehovah, we similarly support provisions for worship within the earthly part of Jehovah's organization. We thereby demonstrate that we have the same frame of mind that David had. Ours is not a spirit of complaint. Instead, we focus on the goodness of God's organization. Have you thought about the many good things for which we can truly be grateful?'' w 7/15/06 2,3a

My thoughts ...

The whole Scripture reads ...

4 Happy is the one you choose and cause to approach,
That he may reside in your courtyards.
We will certainly be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
The holy place of your temple.

Ahhhhhhhhhh to be CHOSEN by Jehovah ... to COME NEAR TO HIM ... to LIVE IN HIS COURTYARD ...!!

How can this possible ...?

Ps. 24:3,4 ...

3 Who may ascend into the mountain of Jehovah,
And who may rise up in his holy place?

4 Anyone innocent in his hands and clean in heart,
Who has not carried My soul to sheer worthlessness,
Nor taken an oath deceitfully.

And what will such ones receive for their seeking to serve God in spirit and truth ...?

Verse 5 ...

5 He will carry away blessing from Jehovah
And righteousness from his God of salvation.

WHO has this opportunity then to dwell in Jehovah's courtyard, his temple and receive blessings ...?

Ps. 65:2 ...

2 O Hearer of prayer, even to you people of all flesh will come.

Isa. 56:6,7 ...

6 “And the foreigners that have joined themselves to Jehovah to minister to him and to love the name of Jehovah, in order to become servants to him, all those keeping the sabbath in order not to profane it and laying hold of my covenant, 7 I will also bring them to my holy mountain and make them rejoice inside my house of prayer. Their whole burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be for acceptance upon my altar. For my own house will be called even a house of prayer for all the peoples.”

Yes, who wouldn't be 'satisfied' with ... 'goodness of your house, the holy place of your temple.' ...? :cheer:

Now, perhaps some good questions to ponder on these verses ... and hopefully have some comments on is ...

WHERE is this 'courtyard' or 'holy temple' or 'house' ...?

Was David not thinking about (literal) Jerusalem in these verses and does this mean then they we could be referring to New Jerusalem ...?
:dontknow: :questioning:

Any thoughts ...? ;)

Luv as always ... BR :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
