Good evening dear ones ... :friends:
I just got back tonight from doctor's appointments (me and my daughter-in-law) so I'm so sorry that I didn't get the text put up yesterday ... :( I'm feeling a wee bit sore and tired right now so hopefully you'll forgive if yesterday's and todays are a wee bit shorter than usual ...? Maybe some will pick up the slack ... :giverose:
Scripture text is from one of my favorite books Ps. 139:14 ...
Your works are wonderful, as my soul is very well aware.
Watchtower comments ...
''The religions of Christendom generally claim to believe the Bible. However, they fail to agree on what it teaches. How different their condition is from that of Jehovah's servants! Regardless of our national, cultural, or ethnic background, we worship the God we know by name. He is not some mysterious triune god. (Deut. 6:4; Ps. 83:18; Mark 12:29) We are also aware that the paramount issue of God's universal sovereignty is due for settlement and that by maintaining our integrity to him, each one of us is personally involved in that issue. We know the truth about the dead and are free of the morbid fear of a God who is said to torment humans in hellfire or consign them to purgatory. (Eccl. 9:5,10) Moreover, what a joy it is to know that we are not an accidental product of blind evolution! Rather, we are God's creation, made in his own image.''--Gen. 1:26; Mal. 2:10. w5/15/06 4,5a
My thought ...
Here is the verse in all its 'glory' ... ;)
(CEV) and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt.
(GW) I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.
(JPS) I will give thanks unto Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
(YLT) I confess Thee, because that with wonders I have been distinguished. Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul is knowing it well.
Some Bible translations use the word 'fearfully' instead of 'amazingly' or 'wonderfully' and indeed the Hebrew word 'yawray' does mean 'fearfully' ... but not only does it mean what we think of when we think of 'fear' ... dread or terror for example ... but it can also mean according to Strong's 'to revere' or to (be had in) reverence ...
According to one of my dictionaries the word 'fearful' (ly) has the meaning of someone ...
Being filled with deep reverential awe.
Is that not the feeling we get from the Psalmist's words in this verse of the Psalms ... how DEEP his THANKFULNESS and AWE was in the way that Jehovah created us ...!!
And when we come forward a few thousands years how much more do we know of the ways in which we are created than did the Psalmist ...
So how much more should we PRAISE and GIVE GLORY to one the one who created us intricate beings!!
Yes Praise Jah us people!! :grouphug::D:happyheart:
Luv to all ... guess who ...:P :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
Now on to putting up today's ...
