Howdy y'all! Thought I'd pop in here, introduce myself to the newbies and bring others up to date, since I haven't been posting at the other place.
I'm a single parent (17 yo daughter), early forties and female. I've been experiencing cognitive dissonance in many areas of my life, and have developed some coping skills, so things I heard at the KH didn't bother me too much. In the last year I've gone from a "liberal" JW hanging out on the fringes of my congregation to a full-blown fader. I decided to go to the meetings when my daughter asks. Well, she hasn't asked in three months. :-) I can't say I miss the meetings. No one from the cong. has called me, so I guess they don't miss me either. ;)
I'm on a spiritual journey, and I don't know where it will take me. I don't have to have all the answers anymore. Other than that, life is good!
Sis Invisible!!! :thumbsup::hug:

Dear Sis Invisible

You 'don't have to have all the answers'???
That's good because we don't have 'em all either :D
We're still slugging away at the 'good book' trying to wring every last inch of understanding out of it, this side of the Great Tribulation
Maybe you can enlighten us :giverose:

Hi Sister Invisible :hibye:
Welcome back! I know what you mean about no-one coming to visit you. No one has been to visit me since I decided enough was enough, and that was two years ago! No, they never came, and after knowing everyone for 22 years! Strange, eh? Jesus said we would recognise his true followers by their love amongs themselves. That says it all! doesn't it? I didn't know about the NGO or anything at the time. Just couldn't cope with the dreadful things I was, and had been seeing for years.:( My spiritual journey has made me stronger in my belief, as it has others here. It will be the same for you.:read:
Christian love to you.
Sister Grateful. :happyheart:
Hi there Sister "I" so glad to hear from you again.:D:thumbsup:
Hugs to you and your daughter.

Hello sis invisible....good to know you are happy and at peace...
I know how that cognitive dissonance feels too...and I'm sure you are in company here of many too who have and are experiencing the same thing....
That CD will wear you down to your knees and make you scream uncle....it forces you to make some kind of decision whether its a good or bad decision to find some kind of peace of mind...
I made the decision to return to the meetings and was so very happy and resolute...as all family were happy for me...and brothers and sisters....but also here is the old CD wearing away at my mind and heart....
Enjoy the feeling of closure sis invisible....as one poster said ..why does things have to be so complicated....and I say...because of men and mens demands and expectations....
Take care of yourself sis
