Hello everyone! I just received a free book in the mail I ordered from the-end.com called "2008 God's Final Witness" by Ronald Weinland.

Now, of course, there's been enough false prophets around to make anyone gag...but flipping through the book something he said caught my attention. He said, on page 206 under the topic "The Truth about Yahweh":
"God's end time apostle, Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong, was given understanding that the Trinity was a fase teaching. He learned that the holy spirit is not a being, but that it is the very power of God...[Mr. Armstrong] was not completely able to break free from the pollution of the Trinity doctrine because he believed that Jesus Christ was the God of the Old Testament. "

and then he continues on explaining further about how God isn't a trinity.

Now, when I first got this book and read the back of it, I saw then that this author claims to be a prophet of God. In my head I immediately thought:" A true prophet of God will have no falsehoods in his teaching whatsoever. Period. The minute I read about his belief in hellfire or trinity I'm disregarding the book." And the first thing I see is that he doesn't believe in the trinity.

So I'm going to start reading this book and see what else he has to say.

Has anyone here already read it? (It just got released for publication a few months ago). If so, let me know what you thought of it, and if there is anything I should be aware of. In the meantime, I'm gonna start reading. :read:

Tami,
I have answered this already and dont know where the post went.
I received 2 free books from Mr. Weinland.

Too much like Robert King and Don Burney.
In the first book he claims Armstrong is the modern day Eziekel, in the second, he claims he himself is one of the TWO WITNESSES DRESSED IN SACKCLOTHE.:shocked::confused:
There are alot of truths in the books, like JWs have alot of truth also. But he really threatens ones who wont listen solely to him

Hi Tami: I am not sure, but I think he belongs to the Church of God. Their beliefs are almost identical to those of the WT. I guess the only big diference is that the WT's Bethel is in New YorK, while their Bethel is in Oklahoma.

Hi Tami

A while back I downloaded his ebooks for free onto my computer, and perused them.

His situation reminds me of the Bible Students pre-1914. They foretold that something tumultous would happen in 1914, and when it did, it was later used as the basis for what would become the doctrine of the "faithful and discreet slave".

Ronald Weinland is doing the same thing, but for the former Worldwide Church of God. If what he predicts does come true, then no doubt his religion will grow, because one of the "two witnesses" predicted it.

If it doesn't come true, doesn't matter, because it was an invisible falling after all, just as Babylon the Great fell in 1919 according to the WTS, and as Jesus came invisibly in 1914 or 1874, according to the WTS and Bible Students respectively.

It's good how religion allows you to cover every eventuality in order to be right! :D

Wow, God has so many "watchmen", "chieftains", "faithful and discreet slave" classes, "two witnesses" its a wonder they don't all fall over themselves!

Interpretum - the "third candlestick".

(Whadd'ya mean there were only two???)
Always be wary of anyone claiming to be a prophet.

its like trying to stamp what they say with an "approved by God - listen to me!"

Prophets aren't concerned with being known as prophets, they're concerned with getting God's will and purpose spoken out for the sake of the people.

If you're a prophet, speak out and let the Spirit testify to your calling. Ditto being a teacher or a pastor or an evangelist. The proof of who they are is in their words and deeds and the fruit of these words and deeds, not in any title they adopt.

Too many chiefs, not enough injuns????:P

Its like people who claim to be reincarnated, they're always Cleopatra or Queen Elizabeth or someone famous, never Pete Boggins the swineherd.

People like a theology that strokes their ego.

God doesn't stroke our egos, in Him we see that we are truly worthless in our own strength - and yet, at the same time, that we are hugely precious.

Christianity is always about Christ, who,in turn, is always about His father. Its never about any other man and any other man's clever interpretations. A prophet or teacher will never point you to themselves, only God.

Best teacher I ever knew had one answer to any question. "I don't know, ask God." Irritating at the time, but no one made me seek God harder or learn to hear His voice, and no-one stood with me more while I learned to discern what was or wasn't God.

It's me, Pete Boggins, come back to life! Anyone see my pigs?
I'm always wary when someone comes along claiming to be a prophet, but it's not often you have one that disagrees with the Trinity....that's what caught my interest.

After all the comments here, I did a little net searching on the guy, and yes, he IS from the Church of God, which seems to be an offshoot of the WorldWide Church of God. One of you said something to the effect of: a little bit of truth does not a prophet make....and I agree with that too.

I guess I'm just intrigued to find that there are some that don't go for the Trinity nonsense. But I will take his words with a grain of salt (and a pound of bible! LOL!)

Love to all!
Tami

The old Worldwide Church of God stems from the same root as Watchtower - Adventism. I remember reading the book "Mystery of the Ages" by Herbert W. Armstrong, which was printed by one of the splinter groups after the WWCG declared itself an evengelical trinitarian body.

Even when compared with Watchtower the WWCG was super strict and expensive to be in. I think he got a lot from Watchtower, though, particularly the Magazine distribution.

I remember watching "The World Tomorrow" on TV back when I was working nights. It was actually pretty good - a weird cross between Lyndon LaRouche and Brother Stair. (Actually Brother Stair deserves his own posting!)

Hi Tina,
I just got these books by Weinland too. I have to say after reading some of the material of his, I am a little confused. But on the subject of the Trinity, I will give Mr. Weinland that, the bible does not mention the word Trinity. That concept was invented by the Catholics based on my research (internet). However, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit do exist, which is different than saying they are all ONE as the theory of the Trinity teaches. But Weinland also states that the Holy Spirit is not a being, but if you read John 14:15, it seems to me that the Holy Spirit is a being. I have only read some but I agree with the post below, to be wary of anyone who is claiming to be THE anything, it seems like a very puffed up position. Many of us have callings if not as big, or BIGGER, we still have callings, and who would be to announce that WE are anything, our work, and our fruit will show and precede us, I am finding alot of things he is saying that I do not see in the bible at all. I have had a fear but on me since starting with these books, and there is a differene between a man-imposed fear and a God-imposed fear. So I have put the books down for awhile, I will probably pick up where I left off to see where it all leads, but do let us know how it works out with you.
