Dear friends,
I have had a terrible summer. My truck broke down, my computer crashed no less than 3 times, and I broke my foot!
Needless to say, I missed you all something awful. But I'm back now, and hopefully for a while before something else goes wrong.
So with much faith that Jehovah will keep me here for this month (at least), I start a new prayer thread for the month of September.
Here is today's prayer:
Put Courage Into My Heart
Lord, put courage into my heart, and take away all that may hinder me serving you.
Free my tongue to proclaim your goodness, that all may understand me.
Give me friends to advise and help me, that by working together our efforts may bear abundant fruit.
And, above all, let me constantly remember that all my actions are in vain unless they are guided by your hand.

Strange place to get such a wonderful prayer, isn't it? But I am reminded of when the apostles told Jesus about a man who was expelling demons in Jesus' name who was not part of their group. Jesus' reply?
"Do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us." Mark 9:30,40
So let us remember today, brothers and sisters, that when someone does something in Jesus' name, it is a GOOD THING!
Much love to you all,
Your sister,
Micah :neo:
Hello to all my brethren on this most beautiful Sunday afternoon!
I hope that everyone can get outside today and enjoy one of the last hot Sundays of the year! And if you can't get outside, at least look outside! Enjoy the magnificence the Creator has gifted us with! Not just the colors and scents and sounds, but the fact that he gave us the senses to enjoy it all!
Here are today's prayers:
For Everyday Blessings
Dear God,
Open my eyes to the beauty of this day.
The yellow of an egg yolk in a blue bowl.
The scent of bacon frying in the pan.
The soft caress of the morning breeze.
The sound of children at play.
Awaken my senses.
Let me see, hear, and feel the beauty around me.
And be aware of the presence of the Great Artist in my everyday world.

Let Us Rise Up and Be Thankful
Let us rise up and be thankful,
for if we didn't learn a lot today,
at least we learned a little,
and if we didn't learn a little,
at least we didn't get sick,
and if we got sick,
at least we didn't die;
so let us all be thankful.
- The Buddha
Prayer of Thanks
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
Father in heaven,
We thank thee.

Much love to you all,
Your sister,

Today's Prayer, sweet and simple!:drinking:
Prayer for the Home
May the house wherein I dwell be blessed;
May good thoughts here possess me;
May my path of life be straight and true;
My dreams as here I lie be joyous;
All above, below, about me
May the house I love be hallowed.
Much love to you all!
Sis Micah :neo:
Our next door neighbor has had a worse summer than me. After moving out here in the boonies, her husband beat her up and left her. She then found out she was pregnant. But she miscarried. And then found out her cancer had come back. So today's prayer is for my neighbor, Lucy.
Prayer for a Woman Who Has Had a Miscarriage
O God of love, source of life,
hear our prayers for Lucy.
Her baby died before it ever came to birth.
The blessing of your love
was torn from her body,
leaving her empty and devastated.
Comfort her now in her sorrow.
Restore her hope for a child to come.
Give her courage and new delight
in the days ahead.
In good time, grant her a new life
that her soul may rejoice
and her body give birth;
in Christ's name we pray. Amen.

Hi Micah, good to see you again!! Come to Florida and enjoy the winter!:hibye:
Dear Friends,
Sometimes, well, most of the time, it is hard to do the right thing, even when you know it is the right thing to do. We all know what is right and what is wrong. This is the legacy our first parents gave us- along with the sin. But doing what is right is often so hard, we look for the easy way out.
My own father, agreeing with me about all the problems the Watchtower has, asked me if it wouldn't be easier on myself to just keep quiet and go along with it.
"Be kind to yourself, Lord; you will not have this destiny at all."
With a straight face, I replied to my father, "Get behind me, Satan."
Why????
Because, "you are a stumbling block to me, because you think, not God's thoughts, but those of men." Matt. 16:22,23
Today's prayer is asking Jehovah and Jesus to keep us on track, to do what is right, even when we'd rather do what is easy, even when everyone around us would rather we just did what was easy.
Show Me the Course
Steer the ship of my life, good Lord, to your quiet harbour, where I can be safe from the storms of sin and conflict. Show me the course I should take. Renew in me the gift of discernment, so that I can always see the right direction in which I should go. And give me the strength and the courage to choose the right course, even when the sea is rough and the waves are high, knowing that through enduring hardship and danger in your name we shall find comfort and peace.
- Basil of Caesarea (c. 329-379)
Much love and strength to all of you,
Your sister, Micah :neo:
I just have to post "it is not up to man to direct his own steps"
It takes work to rely on God but he promises he will guide us in the way we should walk.
