I don't know about you all - but I really miss having a chat box where we can just pop in and say hi to everyone at once and share a little of our day.
There was a complaint a while back that we don't share our personal lives with each other, and for the most part that's true. We know so much more about each other's spiritual thoughts than we do of the everyday things - and those things count too! There's also the constraint of time that prevents us from writing to everyone we wish to keep in contact with - at least for me it seems so. And I don't want to start a new thread whenever I have a little bit of nothing to say - so maybe we can continue this thread like a chat box? I would really like to get to know so many here better and get to know about your lives - the ups and downs and ins and outs that make you - you.
OK - here's my day so far. Rodney(my hubby) has been working a little overtime - so that means we get up at the ungodly hour of 3:30 AM and he's off to work at 4 to get there - 25 miles away - by 5. Wow is that early! I always check in here and have a cuppa coffee - today I went back to sleep for another 2 hours!
I clean intern housing at a local college part-time in the summer and today, I think, I cleaned the last apartment. Good thing too - as I was rinsing the tub surround, my feet slipped backwards and I slid down to my knees - but my right arm was still extended and it got over-extended - it hurts! I guess I pulled a muscle - not the bicep, but an inner muscle from the bicep up to the shoulder - in the front. It coulda been worse but it still hurts
and it's weak(I have to hold it with my left hand to get it from the keyboard to the mouse - ouch!) I finished cleaning the apartment with no other mishaps. Didn't think it was so bad till I got in my car to come home - oh boy, shifting about killed me! I've got a 2001 Chevy Cavalier Z24 - 5 speed. I really really wanted an automatic but the gas mileage is so much better with a standard. It's cute too - indigo blue with a bumper magnet that my daughter, Melanie, got me last year - "I pray that God isn't too picky" - lol.
But this puts a crimp in things because I wanted to finish making some cement stepping stones today and now I can't bear the thought of trying to stir cement! Oh well, I'll find something to do - there's always something! I do have some banana peppers to can. I'm a real Susie Home Maker here - haha. Tomatoes await me in the garden too - juice-making is on the agenda tomorrow - my arm will probably feel lots better by then.
There's grapes to make into jelly too - and a friend at work sent Rodney home with a 20 lb. head of cabbage! I'm not kidding - 20 lbs! It's a monster. I plan to make some cabbage rolls to freeze with the big outer leaves, then some freezer slaw - lots of it! See, I told ya - there's always something to do around here!
Right now, though, I can't wait till Rodney gets home so I can have him rub my arm and let him feel really sorry for me! He's so good at that.
There ya go - a little piece of me and my world, so un-exciting and yet so eventful! If anything, a peek into my life will make you ever-so grateful for yours!
You're welcome - glad to help!
I love you all so much and hope to hear from each and every single one of you, my brethren. I look so forward to knowing you each a little bit more - or a lot more - as much as you're willing and able to divulge.
So please 'holler' back
or shout or chat - whatever!
Your sister and friend in Christ,
Willa

. We both have some adjusting to do with regards food, music and she tends to fall asleep with her TV on all night and I get up at 3-4 am to turn it off. And heaps of other things she does that I find strange. Never mind, I'm still a mum at heart and we'll work it out together.
Hi everyone! Great to hear from you all!
So far I've canned green beans and lots of 'em( and some Romano Italian beans that we just discovered we love), some jellies, peaches, corn and diced tomatoes. Put some stuff in the freezer too - getting to be pretty well stocked again.
And you're so far away... you know how much your words of comfort do mean to your friend, even though you'd rather be able to hug and cry together. Life is so fleeting - and so moment by moment precious. *sigh* My niece just had what I thought was a miscarriage, but turns out she'd gone to the emergency room with stomach pains and they found out her baby had died... they had to induce labor and she had him stillborn - how very very sad our survivors' tales can be.
Your car - and your driving! - sounds like a blast! My little car is pretty zippy too! Probably the only vehicle we'll ever buy brand new - we still can't believe we paid that much! Rodney's in the market for a different truck now and he's trying to be chintzy. He needs 4-wheel drive for the long hauls to work this winter - I worry so about that drive on icy roads. It's hard to find the right combination of what you want with gas efficiency at the right price, though.
Even now, though, the arm's feeling a little stronger, so I'll be on the mend for the week probably. I'm so frail...lol. But I'm generally happy in life, or perhaps just deluded - got me a good man and a little piece of land...
Hey - where's my muffin lady?

and don't neccesarily feel compelled to post on any particular thread,
but want to say a quick 'Hi' to stay in touch with everyone.
& all MIA's...
) I too hope Hitomi comes back and makes her place in this big extended family of God.
I have been soooo busy the past couple of weeks.
Sorry to all you pm buds.
) There's a seasonal ebb and flow on a discussion forum that's out of sync between the northern and southern hemispheres. I'm not able, time-wise, to be on the computer as much in the summer as in the winter. Some people are taking vacations.

Brant was planning a great summer of biking and visiting relatives.
I hope everyone brings back pictures!
North America and UK/Europe/Asia/India is out of sync too, not seasonally but daily because of the time differences.
In the past I've so enjoyed talking to Vicky, Brian, Resolute, New Heart and BR on Skype once in a while - but something went awry there and it's not working right.

Hey Jon - oh, yeah - love them green fried tomatoes! I've found they stay crispier longer if you add some crushed cornflake crumbs to the breading - ever tried it?
Now my stomach's growling!
