Since we are seeking to live by Christian standards the foundation for how we interact with one another at the Paradise Café Discussion board is based on Christian principles and love. Smile

Yes, may we always use our Christian freedom in a Godly way; letting our online conduct be a light shining in a dark place and never giving anyone an excuse to say anything bad about us, our God and our Lord Christ Jesus!

Luke 6:31
31 “Also, just as YOU want men to do to YOU, do the same way to them.

Col. 4:6
6 Let YOUR utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how YOU ought to give an answer to each one.

Eph. 4:29
29 Let a rotten saying not proceed out of YOUR mouth, but whatever saying is good for building up as the need may be, that it may impart what is favorable to the hearers.
Amen!
I like this too:
Tit 3:2 to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.

I'm not always the best at it. But I want to be. And, that is what the Lord grades on...intent.
“…I commit you to God and to the word of his undeserved kindness, which can build you up and give you the inheritance among all the sanctified ones.” Acts 20:32

We have been given good examples how to conduct ourselves and our speech. My hope is we all take the high road.

When we stay positive:
It builds others up.
It gives dignity to others and ourselves.
It brings honor to Jehovah and his Son.

I have a cat that looks just like that one. His name is Blackie.
Proverbs 15:22...

Let us always keep fresh in our minds Our Board Way Of Life! by our fine conduct and upbuilding speech toward one another, remembering always that the Lord himself drops by this board each and every day to see how we are doing in showing love to one another. “And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

It will be my daily prayer that whenever our fingers touch our keyboards to script with words the emotions of our hearts and the thoughts of our minds, that our conveyances seek only to upbuild and to be upbuilt - to never tear one another down.

Love is the most important of all the fruits of God’s spirit, and we have the wonderful opportunity to here prove our commitment to one another, to our Heavenly Father and our Lord Christ Jesus, and to the thrilling Purpose they have called us to!

I think, as long as we remember to try to treat everyone with the same respect and courtesy as we would like for ourselves, then we should be fine.

People don't hold differing beliefs to be awkward, or to upset other people. The reasons why people believe as they do cannot just be tossed aside because we might not agree.

Everyone is different, unique, we can never fully understand the circumstances and experiences that lead someone to a certain beliefs.

I see no problem in people pointing out where they differ, and why they differ and asking questions. I also understand that people will naturally want to "help" other people where they feel they're wrong. That's where the problems often start.

Therefore, my deepest prayer for every single one of us (and boy, I include myself first and foremost, my beliefs are hardly a plumbline y'knowSad) is that we would spend time firstly, extolling our God, blessing Him, seeking Him, for ourselves too, to try to keep our own focus on Him, to watch out for those pesky planks that get in our eyes when we're not looking. If we keep crying out to God for own own lives, to get ourselves right with Him, to look to where we need changing before we start noticing where other people need changing - then who knows, what we end up saying might be very useful somewhere along the line.

Shalom.

Now now, Rolando....we don't know but his cat is really white from the chin down....LOL!
Lol - I was going to say 'imaginitive' RR...
We have a long-haired pure black cat, too, Jim - he's a beauty with bright gold eyes - 'Jerry'. Our granddaughter named him after 'Tom & Jerry' - I know, I know... Jerry is the mouse! LOL! We also have a huge tabby/white cat named Fuzzy Butt - 'cause he has one... and a little girl cat named Purrscilla May... plus 3 outside cats named Lucy Belle, Samantha Jane and an orange tiger named Patrick O'Brien- 'cause he showed up stray at our house on St. Pat's day, he looks Irish(red-headed, lol) and we like Conan O'Brien who also has legendary red hair... Oh wait, is this thread about pets?

Oops, sorry - back on topic, I agree with all the comments and think we'll do just fine as long as we keep our love for each other at the forefront of our discussions - I know we'll be able - it's THE sign of Christ's brothers and sisters. I think it's the reason we're here...
~Peace~

"At that time those in fear of Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance began to be written up before him for those in fear of Jehovah and for those thinking upon his name. “And they will certainly become mine,” Jehovah of armies has said, “at the day when I am producing a special property. And I will show compassion upon them, just as a man shows compassion upon his son who is serving him. And YOU people will again certainly see [the distinction] between a righteous one and a wicked one, between one serving God and one who has not served him.”" -- Malachi 3:16-18

This scripture is good to reflect on as we "talk" together.

Amen, Admin Big Grin

It's so easy to show love towards people who love us and respect us, but get's harder when people treat us harshly and disrespectful.
At those moments we can show what we have learned. Then we can try to act and think the way Jesus taught us. It's a rewarding way of life.

Matthew 5:38-42
"Here's another old saying that deserves a second look: 'Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.' Is that going to get us anywhere? Here's what I propose: 'Don't hit back at all.' If someone strikes you, stand there and take it. If someone drags you into court and sues for the shirt off your back, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it. And if someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.
43-47"You're familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.' I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.

48"In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you."
(The Message-translation)

Lots of love to you all,
Openheart

Frankly Watcher, I wasn't too crazy about you until I read this. May Jesus forgive me for judging.
