Paradise Cafe Discussions - A Place For Bible Research And Christian Encouragement

I have recently been absent from this board, due to an extreme personal need to communicate with my God Jehovah and my Lord Jesus.

Than, while still in the midst of my headache-inducing, heart-wrenching prayers, I received an email, saying someone here had been BANNED from the board.

I don't need to go into details, as you were all here, and I wasn't, you probably know more about what happened than I do.

My question is:

WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS GOING ON HERE?????!!!!!!

Have you all forgotten already that this was our refuge? Our hiding place from the storm that is this world? You all remind me of the Israelites, just released from captivity to Egypt (The WTBTS or E-Watchman- your choice), and already you have forgotten!

Have you all forgotten the good that Jehovah saw fit to give to us? The deliverance of our souls from those men, the gathering of ourselves in the wilderness, and the miracles that Jehovah has provided us with food and companionship and assured safe travel thru the surrounding war-like countries????

We are supposed to be here for each other. Not for ourselves. We are supposed to be here to sharpen iron with iron- not throwing the iron at each other! We are supposed to be under a refining process as we grow closer to God Jehovah and our Saviour Jesus Christ! We are supposed to LOVE one another, and put the other person's needs above our own!

I know I've been absent, but

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE???!!!!

WHERE IS THE LOVE?

WHERE IS THE FRIENDSHIP, THE COMPANIONSHIP?

WHERE IS THE SHARING OF SPIRITUAL FOOD?

And why are people turning on each other??????????

A thread I managed to get thru, with a minimum of disgust, was one asking why we bother to pray if God doesn't hear or answer our prayers- apparently a hot topic here recently. I have no idea why this is so important to people to argue over!

Anyway, I want to draw everyone's attention to Deborah's comment:

Thanks Micah for the wakeup call. Anthony’s name is still in the members list. I just hoped that it was a momentary technical error and then he could login back. I mailed him about this and got a sad reply.This is a very depressing situation. How long could we go on making rules, disfellowship our brothers? Aren’t we here to learn from each other? Can’t we accept the differences and move on. I have always enjoyed his posts now I would need to search in other forums to read what he has to say. Are the board owners harsh enough to ban him… No wonder propmin started a thread on who the board owners are…who bans people and why….btw is propmin still in

I'm afraid, dear Deborah, that you misunderstood my post. I was not addressing the facilitators or the board owners. I regard them as the men Moses delegated responsibility to- with Jesus as the greater Moses, of course.

My post was not about the banning that occurred- it was the ungrateful and presumptious spirit of those who were banned that I was critizing. They were the Israelites, waiting for Moses to come down from the mountain and demanding a false idol to worship because things were not being done according to their timetable.

We must all remember that Jehovah is not slow regarding his promises, but that our timetables are not his.

My words were meant to awaken others to the spirit of murmuring that pre-saged the banning. Please understand, I love PropMin and Observant and Anthony and Nami! Very, very much!

But their attitude was unacceptable. Hopefully, they will repent and turn around- and come back to us- where we are ALL waiting anxiously for their return.

Thanks for clarifying what you meant because it sounded to me like you were referring to the ones who did the banning.

Please explain the comment about the facilitators and board owners likened to the ones Moses delegated responsibility. Are you viewing them as ones Jesus appointed? I hope you are not implying that they are the new FDS.

Not at all!!!!

Remember that Moses was stressed out from all the responsibility in keeping track of all the people. His father-in-law, Jethro, advised him to delegate responsibility to some of the other men. Moses took the advice- and those men delegated to handled the small stuff of running the camp- leaving Moses to handle all the tough, important spiritual matters.

Not at all!!! The men Moses delegated to were NOT the f&d slave. They were, for all intents and purposes, business men. Moses was still in charge, and responsible for the handling of direct communication between Jehovah and the nation of Israel.

How does this relate to the board?

Jesus is the greater Moses. He is in charge, and responsible for the direct communication between Jehovah and the nation of spiritual Israel. However, he cannot handle matters here on earth directly- so he delegates to some others to handle the business end of things. He is not naming them the f&d slave- nor am I. But like those men of Moses', they are responsible for the smooth running of the camp- this board.

I hope this clears up any questions about who my loyalty is to. It is to Jesus and Jehovah- not a discussion board or its owners and facilitators. But I respect their position as men (and women) of responsibility in running this board- our refugee camp where we reside, having escaped from Egypt, and not yet entered into the Promised Land of the New System.

That is why the scripture say not to be a burden to those in charge.

or something like that..

we are all part of a body that needs food. the brain knows this yet can do nothing about it. without the help of the feet and the hands.
and the stomache is gratefull and in return nourishes the brain , the feet and the hands.

so if one single part decides to stop doing it job the whole body does indeed suffer.

so the feet could murmer that they do all the walking yet the brain could say well I help to coordinate all muscles and joints that move you.

What a wonderous and grand creator to use such an illustration as the BODY of christ. so that our little brains can comprhend the BIG picture

If you are likening ADMIN to Moses, and somehow "in charge" of the faith of others, remember, this - is - a - discussion - board; not a religion.

Nor is this a "refugee camp". It is a discussion board. Our "refugee camp" is Christ, and the few we can associate with beyond leaving a few notes on the internet.
