The wages of sin is not to die, but to be dead.
The gift of Christ raises us from death.
In the Millennium and beyond after one has accepted the ransom of Christ and knows to do better and does not, that person will die forever. Heb 10:26-28
Now we die (our teeth are set on edge) because of the sour grape our father (Adam) ate.
In the Millennium, our teeth will only be set on edge because of the sour grapes (sin) we eat.
Jer 31:29-30 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
The forgiveness by Jesus has only so far been given to the Church, but in the Judgment Day, it will be offered to all mankind who will accept and obey.
Ransom for all...IN DUE TIME 1Tim2:6
Right now, mankind is under sentence of death, and that death sentence will be carried out, until Jesus takes possession of the race from His Father.
My thoughts...Your's may vary...see your God for details. :)
God bless
The wages of sin is death, because when we sin we are going against God's standards, therefore we deserve to die. HOWEVER....because we have forgiveness through Christ's blood (which is just and fair, being that we didn't get to choose to be non-sinners), that forgiveness enables us to return to life after our death. Without that forgiveness, the state of death would be a permanent thing.
After going around and around with it, I finally decided that I'd just leave it in the air and let God figure it out.
