hi, manyfaces. i think what gogh was saying is that our discussion board is like a great big table with all sorts of dishes (threads). so, just take what you like, ... and leave the rest.
just because someone else says or thinks something, we don't have to let it cause us to get all tied up in knots. (all that really does is give them power and control over us which is not rightly theirs.) so, relax. it will all come out in the wash, as they say.
there are lots of threads in which i know that i won't have much interest. so, if i do some reading in them (out of curiosity, or whatever), i'm usually
while i read.
your friend and brother, ... isomam
I especially love the line "so, just take what you like, ... and leave the rest."
And "just because someone else says or thinks something, we don't have to let it cause us to get all tied up in knots."
If we don't like someone's dish offering, we have the ability to not eat it. And let those who will benifit from it eat that dish.
Very wise and intelligent thoughts, Isomam. This is a helpful way to react when we don't agree with someone. Now if only I could always follow this.
i'm glad you found it useful. that "take what you like, ... and leave the rest" thing-ey? that's another gem from "recovery." everything i say, i've stolen from someone or somewhere.
