My understanding (subject to correction) is that it is manirus and bruised reed--that is what I think--
so nice to see you again ...
you have been missed ...
As to your question about who 'owns' the board my brother ... may I humbly ask ... why do you ask?
Just curious ...

Christian love to you and yours ... BR

Not sure what your question is about ... but ... as to myself ... my involvement on this board has always been from a technical aspect ... helping with the setting up of the site and helping maintain the the site in the backend.
We were asked to help in this regard and we have been very happy to do so. I never like to be in the spotlight and much rather like to work quietly in the background.
BruisedReed's contribution was the design and color scheme so all would feel welcomed and enjoy the board as they would going into their favorite cafe.

We also help as facilitators along with others listed on Forum Team list.
Hope that clears things up ...
Please have a great day!
Manirus
It was Bruised Reed who named us "The Paradise Cafe". We loved it and made good use of it to post our research, questions, thoughts and even general silliness.
The Paradise Cafe is a longstanding "gestalt" -- (A collection of physical, biological, psychological or symbolic entities that creates a unified concept, configuration or pattern which is greater than the sum of its parts.).
When Robert decided to clean out something that he never wanted in the first place we gathered in the refugee camp that Spud/Dina threw up as a place to land. While we were regrouping, Manirus and Bruised Reed designed and put up our present home....and here we are.
Who owns the board? What an unusual question.
Probably impossible to answer......sorry!
Love, Rez
or Satans woman
Res; it appears as if you are describing conception and operational purpose, not ownership.
Its really a very straitforward question; who owns the board?
If it is a "collective", as Res. implied, then would it not be a "collective" that would decide the content of the threads and posts, not just what a "few" decide are "spiritually appropriate"?

As such all here make up Christ’s body because of that Jehovah is manifest through his son and Christ is manifest though us. That is the way Jehovah would want us to see it despite any legal definitions.
Of course I personally recon that applies to all Christians around the world more or less but they are not members of this board which is just as well really because the internet would need more bandwidth.
I would strongly add that because we all belong to each other we must work in harmony with each other and that includes ALL of us. So for instance we must say what we mean to each other and if we have a problem with someone we should talk with them directly if possible or by phone perhaps to sort out the problem and in such both sides must be ready to learn and listen.
If we don’t try to get on with each other and not listen on both sides we are turning the body of Christ into a diseased body because it will be at war with itself. We don’t want that do we? We cost so much for Christ to buy that if possible we don’t want to repay him by giving him a cold virus or worse.
The board ownership is not the issue as it is divisive. The board is maintained and facilitated by a group of volunteers who are known to be balanced, fair minded and try to see the both sides of every issue.
Many of the team members confer together as to how to maintain a free and open board while making sure that people don't get overly dogmatic, rigid or push their own agenda.
The dominant quality on this board has been and will always be one of balanced love for one another. The many facilitators work hard to help keep this goal a reality.
I'm sure you appreciate this Propmin, knowing how much work goes on behind the scenes, and knowing you want as much as us, to see that peace and love be the main dish at the cafe.
Warmly,

So, just to be sure I understand this correctly...
The question of board ownership has been labeled as "divisive" and thus the "owner" of the board wishes to remain annonymous?
Just asking a question, folks.

Prop,
You're breakin' my heart, man.
What is your issue? What is your actual concern? Why not just speak it openly, so it can be discussed openly? "Come, let us reason together."
'Course, if you're just wantin' to let off a little steam, I can have Gus meet ya out by the bike rack.
(I'm gettin' waaay too old for that sort of thing.)
Seriously, let's work this out, whatever it is.

This is about other issues and yes I can see the relevance of your thread but this is not the way to do it.
The direct method is always better.

Dunno. Did Franz say that? Very humbling for a man who qualified as a Rhodes Scholar. I don't know who's renting space where. But I know who the owner is.
Off-hand, I'd say that it's up to the caretakers of the property and those who reside there to maintain the place in the best condition possible. You know...for the owner.

Hey now! I'm 55 in a couple of months!
But I'm in agreement with the rest of the request. This internet stuff is what...two dimensional at best? The majority of communication is relayed by body langauage (55%), followed by how words are emphasized (38%), followed by the words themselves (7%). Here, we deal primarily in the words themselves. Is it any wonder people don't understand each other?
Straight up, please (feel free to use bold, italics, and
s as needed).

If folks havn't noticed, Im just about as straightforward as you are going to get, just ask the elders at the local KH.
I really am much better in person. I always look everyone in the eye and they know where they stand. Obviously thats not possible here, and gus is right, written communication just doesn't cut it sometimes. In my day job I am responsible for maintaining personal contact with my clients every day, and I simply don't loose business.
The board owner may have more than the usual influence over matters pertaining to what they feel is "proper" discussion. Im not talking about deciding against someone who posts a blaspheme; that is an obvious fix. The board owner may also have more than the usual influence over the facilitators. Dont misunderstand; Im not stating that this is an evil, Im merely stating that it is likely.
I see a degree of intolerance toward certain ones here as of late. I have also seen words that insinuate, if not outright state, that a certain person here has "a group" or a following, and that metal illness may play a part in some of their positions on matters, and some of their experiences. Specifically, Anthony. This is kind of insulting to him and those who associate with him, and some people simply refuse to see this, namely some who are facilitators.
Ive met Anthony face to face, and our families have spent allot of time together. All I can say is that a "Jim Jones", or "david Koresh" he is not, and the catogorizations that have swirled as of late are simply ridiculous. He really is a quiet humble guy.
There has also been a degree of behind the scenes gossip regaurding this as well.
I simply don't understand why board ownership appears to be so secretive. Most of us have left a religion that specializes in closed door secrecy under the guise of "humility" and avoidance of "divisions".
Generally speaking, "the man (or woman) behind the curtain" philosophy isn't healthy. This isn't to say that facilitators as a group are Nazi's, because they are not. People here are good people, as again I have met a number of them, and talk to others on a regular basis.
But why not answer the question, and let me know where you stand (whoever "you" are)?
