why would Jesus be called the SON OF MAN?

Because he was born supernaturally from man...(female is from man)

Jesus is called the 'son of man' on his second coming also..which shows us that his second return is a human..also.:read:

Jesus will never again become mortal ... He came once in the similitude of Mankind .. the Flesh .. never to take it up again ...

He will be a king in a spiritual kingdom ... not one made by hands .

We are all carnally inclined and have the spirit of beasts within us but we are changed and spiritually molded by the potter into desirable things according to His Image ;)
